Un árbol anciano y lleno de magia habita en Buenos Aires.
Hace unas cuantas semanas salimos una tarde con intención de conocer el Barrio Chino, pero mis padres se adelantaron y para cuando los alcancé, ellos habían desistido de pasear por el barrio chino y estaban metidos en una feria que se había instalado casi en frente del Barrio, es más, cuando los alcancé ya llevaban como trofeo un delicioso quesillo que le habían comprado a una emprendedora.
Al parecer, como era la última semana de las vacaciones de invierno, el barrio chino estaba muy concurrido, aunque debo decir que los alrededores también lo estaban, pero en el Barrio Chino no se podía caminar de tanta gente.
No dejamos que eso nos arruinara la salida, pues el día estaba muy bonito y en los alrededores había mucho que ver.
Por los lados de la Avenida Juramento se pueden encontrar puestos de artesanos y emprendedores muy diversos, con creaciones muy hermosas; hay tejedores y orfebres, artistas gráficos y plásticos, amantes de los cactus y suculentas, fabricantes de velas artesanales y muchas cosas más. Además paseamos por areas verdes que invitaban al descanso y el esparcimiento.
El lugar estaba lleno de personas merendando, conversando o simplemente sentadas tomando el sol. El lugar ideal para un picnic familiar o para encontrarse con amigos
Lo que más me impresionó fue un enorme árbol que puedes encontrar si caminas desde la avenida juramento, por el pasaje Zavala. Es un ficcus que debe tener más más de cien años. En la calle donde está nuestra casa en Cumaná, hay un Cotoperí con más de cien años, pero se queda enano ante este árbol majestuoso.
Está resguardado por un enrejado, pero no tiene identificación alguna que pueda indicar su antigüedad o especie específica, pero por sus dimensiones debe ser realmente muy anciano.
Sería maravilloso descubrir cuantos años lleva ese inmenso árbol regalando su sombra a quienes la necesiten, cuántas generaciones de aves se habrán criando en sus ramas y cuantas historias habrá escuchado de quienes se reúnen en su pie.
Creo que ir a pasear por allí, sentarse a merendar bajo esos árboles y admirar la grandeza de ese ficcus, es un excelente plan para pasar tiempo en familia y sin gastar mucho dinero.
El Barrio Chino ya tendré oportunidad de visitarlo en otro momento que esté menos concurrido y por su puesto, que les compartiré mi experiencia.
Fue una salida muy especial y quedé con ganas de volver pronto. Me encantan los lugares mágicos que voy descubriendo en esta ciudad.

A few weeks ago we went out one afternoon with the intention of visiting Chinatown, but my parents went ahead of us and by the time I caught up with them, they had given up on walking around Chinatown and were at a fair that had been set up almost in front of the neighborhood. Apparently, since it was the last week of the winter holidays, Chinatown was very crowded, although I must say that the surrounding areas were too, but in Chinatown you couldn't walk because of so many people.
We didn't let that ruin our trip, because the day was very beautiful and there was a lot to see in the surroundings.
Along the sides of Avenida Juramento you can find stalls of very diverse artisans and entrepreneurs, with very beautiful creations; there are weavers and goldsmiths, graphic and plastic artists, cactus and succulent lovers, artisan candle makers and much more. We also walked through green areas that invited us to rest and relax.
The place was full of people having a snack, chatting or just sitting sunbathing. The ideal place for a family picnic or to meet up with friends
What impressed me the most was a huge tree that you can find if you walk from Juramento Avenue, along Zavala Passage. It is a ficus that must be more than a hundred years old. On the street where our house is in Cumaná, there is a Cotoperí that is more than a hundred years old, but it is dwarfed by this majestic tree.
It is protected by a trellis, but it has no identification that could indicate its age or specific species, but by its dimensions it must be really very old.
It would be wonderful to discover how many years this immense tree has been giving its shade to those who need it, how many generations of birds have been raised in its branches and how many stories it has heard from those who gather at its foot.
I think that going for a walk there, sitting down to have a snack under those trees and admiring the grandeur of that ficcus, is an excellent plan to spend time with the family without spending a lot of money.
I will have the opportunity to visit Chinatown at another time when it is less crowded and of course, I will share my experience with you.
