Cascada Escondida - El Bolsón | Escondida Waterfall - El Bolsón

Cuando uno visita sitios por primera vez, por tiempo limitado hay que realizar una buena planificación para poder aprovechar el tiempo de la mejor manera y no dejar demasiados huecos para conocer esos lugares que son los imperdibles y así sacar el máximo provecho de esos días.

When you visit places for the first time, for a limited period of time, you have to plan well in order to make the best use of your time and not leave too many gaps to visit those places that are not to be missed, so that you can make the most of those days.

Para quienes no conozcan nuestro país deben saber que la Patagonia Andina es un verdadero paraíso en el que encontrarán paisajes increíbles y maravillas ocultas en cada por todos lados. Tal es así que necesitaríamos de muchos meses para conocer cada uno de los rincones.

For those who do not know our country, you should know that the Andean Patagonia is a true paradise where you will find incredible landscapes and wonders hidden in every corner. So much so that we would need many months to get to know every corner.

Uno de los últimos días en El Bolsón aprovechamos para conocer sitios como la Plaza central del Casco Urbano, la Cascada del Mallín Ahogado y por último este trekking que hoy los invito a conocer llamado Cascada Escondida. Este sitio se encuentra muy cerca de la ciudad del El Bolsón, diría a unos 8 kilómetros saliendo por la famosa ruta 40 en el cual se toma un desvío y hacer apenas de 3 km de ripio para llegar a la entrada del sitio.

One of the last days in El Bolsón we took the opportunity to visit places like the central square of the city center, the Mallín Ahogado waterfall and finally this trekking that today I invite you to know called Cascada Escondida (Hidden Waterfall). This site is located very close to the city of El Bolson, I would say about 8 kilometers from the famous Route 40 in which you take a detour and make just 3 km of gravel to reach the entrance of the site.

En la entrada nos cobraron $2.000 (2 HBD aproximadamente) los adultos y $1.000 (1 HBD) los menores de doce años para recorrer dos senderos de los cuales puede verse la cascada escondida. El primero de ellos se ve desde la ladera de enfrente del valle que separa los dos cerros, apreciándose una vista linda pero algo lejana de la cascada.

At the entrance we were charged $2,000 (2 HBD approximately) for adults and $1,000 (1 HBD) for children under twelve years of age to walk two trails from which the hidden waterfall can be seen. The first of these can be seen from the slope in front of the valley that separates the two hills, with a nice but somewhat distant view of the waterfall.

El primer sendero es algo corto para recorrer, aproximadamente, donde se logran hermosas vistas del valle por el cual hace vida un río donde las cascadas vierten sus aguas. El segundo de los senderos en mucho más largo y exigente ya que se descienden varios metros hasta el cauce del río que recibe el agua de estas cascadas tan bonitas.

The first trail is somewhat short to walk, approximately, where beautiful views of the valley through which a river where the waterfalls pour their waters makes life. The second trail is much longer and more demanding as you descend several meters to the riverbed that receives the water from these beautiful waterfalls.

El sendero es muy lindo y en varios sitios en donde se ha derrumbado el camino se hicieron una especie de pasarelas de madera de donde se observa panorámicas muy bonitas y se puede tener una visión maravillosa de la inmensidad de la naturaleza, lo cual no nos hace más que recordar lo pequeños e insignificantes que somos cada uno de nosotros.

The trail is very beautiful and in several places where the road has collapsed they made a kind of wooden walkways from where you can see very nice panoramic views and you can have a wonderful view of the immensity of nature, which only reminds us how small and insignificant we each one of us are.

A medida que se desciende por el sendero se comienza a sentir un aire mucho más húmedo, en parte por el vapor de las cascadas y en parte por la densa vegetación que hay en la mayor parte del sendero, sobre todo cuando nos estamos acercando al río.

As you descend the trail you begin to feel a much more humid air, partly because of the steam from the waterfalls and partly because of the dense vegetation on most of the trail, especially when you are approaching the river.

Una vez que llegamos al río estuvimos caminando y explorando ese hermoso paisaje por algo más de una hora y nos llamó mucho la atención la cantidad de árboles en medio del agua que hacía sentir que estábamos en una película de Robin Hood. Una experiencia muy linda. Después d ecaminar un buen rato y de conocer el lugar decidimos sentarnos un buen tiempo antes de comenzar el ascenso de regreso a la base de la excursión.

Once we got to the river we walked and explored this beautiful landscape for more than an hour and we were struck by the amount of trees in the middle of the water that made us feel like we were in a Robin Hood movie. A very nice experience. After walking for a while and getting to know the place we decided to sit down for a while before starting the ascent back to the base of the excursion.

Mientras estábamos sentados al lado del río mirábamos el sendero desde abajo y se veía que no era tan sencillo por lo que la subida iba a requerir un poco más de esfuerzo y así fue.

As we sat by the river we looked at the trail from below and could see that it was not that easy so the climb was going to take a little more effort and it did.

Una vez que comenzamos el camino de regreso pude notar algo que en una primera instancia había pasado desapercibido y era que del lado de arriba, de donde comenzaba a caer el agua estaba todos los árboles quemados producto de un gran incendio ocurrido hace unos años en el sector. Como nos dijo el guardaparques el fuego, los incendios también forma parte de la vida y luego de unos años comienza un ciclo en donde las la vegetación y las plantas crecen muy rápido producto de las cenizas que actúan como un gran fertilizante.

Once we started the way back I noticed something that at first had gone unnoticed and that was that on the upper side, where the water began to fall, all the trees were burned by a large fire that occurred a few years ago in the area. As the park ranger told us, fire and fires are also part of life and after a few years a cycle begins where vegetation and plants grow very fast due to the ashes that act as a great fertilizer.

Así termino nuestra visita en la Cascada Escondida, otro de los sitios que nos cautivo con sus vistas y sobre todo con su energía. Esperamos poder el año poder regresar a estos sitios tan maravillosos y poder conocer todos esos lugares que nos quedaron pendientes. Hemos venido a esta vida a disfrutar y descubrir esta naturaleza increíble hace que todo valga un poco más la pena!
