When you are at a crossroads. A Poetic Practice

There is nothing I can do to reverse time
Pulling at invisible strings I curl and die
Sweating and bleeding wishing you're mine
I say this openly I tell you truth, no lie

I am not perfect even when I act like one
Looking back I see where I had lots of missteps
Behind me now I know those moments are gone
If only I took the time to take those mishaps

I know it's too late now since we've moved on
Every moment now I am just savoring
Learning from my mistakes I'll try to carry on
I remember how love was not laboring

Good byes are hard to face
Especially now there's no embrace..
