Excuse Me, But I'm Laughing
Excuse me, I can't stop laughing.
I just can't.
You don't see it?
I do.
Such a funny state of affairs.
We are.
Us.
The whole damn human race.
Maybe I should say damned.
You don't understand?
I'm being too negative?
Excuse me, but I can't stop laughing.
It's always the same.
We think we can make a difference.
We think we can stop the madness.
We and our thinking.
It's so funny.
So typical.
When has it ever been any different?
When?
Never that's when.
How's that for a situation?
And no matter how much we try to think our way out of this one—
We can't!
There's always been rulers and the ruled.
There's always been outrageous corruption.
Sickening plots to make more and more trouble.
All in the name of being good—in the name of justice—in the name of righteousness.
We love to make reasons and excuses—ways to fool ourselves.
We must believe it's all worth it.
Otherwise how could we keep going?
An obsession with our reflections,
our deeds and actions and statements for the cause.
Then there's the religions—boy they're the experts on this methodology.
They wrote books on it.
And the crusades they lead to this day—frightening!
Believers one and all.
I can't stop laughing.
Try as I might.
It's just too hard to bear.
So punch the clock. That's all for today. Go home.
Tomorrow we can start all over again.
The human race will carry on.
