Last night, while I studied, I became aware of the noise of fighting zombies behind me.

I don't let my kids play video games very much, only about 30 minutes per day if they have earned it by doing their homework and things. I don't know if that makes me too strict or not, you can decide.
Yesterday my oldest did all his work so I told him he could play after his bath. Meanwhile I started my Japanese study—hey, even after twenty years, there is always more to learn and maintain.
Absorbed in my study, I didn't notice that he finished his bath and came out. At one point I paused to enjoy the sound of the evening. At this time of year the cicada still are buzzing well into the evening, and at least for me that is a pleasant sound (not all foreigners in Japan agree).
It was then that I became aware of zombie sounds behind me! I turned around, and—ahhhh, it's my son playing Minecraft. Strange game. But he loves it!
Maybe I could also put it in a way that doesn't mention the game.
