I never was one to tell
The true feelings in my mind
You mothered me well
With never a word unkind
But you never saw the dark of me
The sins I performed privately
A less than perfect son
You believed I was the one
You finally succeeded
I was what you needed
To escape the endless pain
Of a life you couldn't explain
To a boy like me
So naïve and innocently
You sent into a world darkly
Contrasting starkly
With what it was "supposed to be"
A fool of me
Who could not see
The very evil surrounding the
Boy you believed in
Drowning in sin
Consumed within
Unable to fight
To find the light
Sink in the sea
A spot on the family tree
I was destined to be
For I fell
How could I tell
Right from wrong
Sheltered so long
Going along
With every whim and whisper
Every wicked tongue a lisper
Of sweet nothings
The demons puffing
All their lies
The violent sighs
In the ears of a boy bound for suicide.
