Across the seas to reach the east
one must risk the limbs to live
Waves that stretch beyond the eyes
one must pass, to test the might.
Storms approach with thunderous roar
heavens’ light thus freely roam
Gloomy skies from day to day
the sun forsakes the law of old.
row and row, they make sure haste
out of dark but into dark
Far at sea with less to eat
all the fish deeply retreat.
“Shall we scream for help we need?”
that depends, on what strength remains
Rum had braced the tears within
Now it’s gone, without refills.
Look aback! At yesteryears
all the feats our names received
From our tales, which laced deceit
how the guile, had seized our hearts.
Hold your tears! We must not sink!
shall we leave with all we’ve seen?
Even the wind despise us still
“not for long! I hear a tweet.”
“Over here! No, over there!”
all around, the tweets persist
“Lads rejoice, we now are free”
the sun has come to ease our knees.
“sing, rejoice the light is here”
the Guard we sought, now saves the day
Oh how great your glorious rays
Here to take our pains away.
Thank you guys for the huge encouragement in the previous poem. I hope you enjoy this. Cheers.
