Feel All the Time

Caught in the shimmer of wavering light,
I watched you leave and didn’t fight.
Under the currents pulling wide,
I miss the tears I tried to hide.

It’s way too late to turn around,
But still I steady shaky ground
And until the soil becomes a wall,
I gather myself through rise and fall.

Afraid of ending up alone,
