Your innocence was taken
You were left forsaken.
Why leave her in tears?
Why take away her dignity and pride?
Why take away her innocence?
Why destroy her future?
Her legs were shaking
couldn't say a word..... traumatized and in pain.
Her eyes say it all, tears rolling down
Sold for a price and sanity taken
Night after night, crying alone,
Wanting to go home but nobody looked twice.
Marginalized by racial oppression and segregation stigmatized by society.
Why destroy our hope and freedom?
Why lock her away in a cage and take her humanity?
Nightmares will never be forgotten
Sold for a price, and treated like animals.
Traumatized like a trapped bird wanting to be free
Living in shame and pain because I was sold for a price.
