Oh, pretty maiden all in blue,
What a shame you're not out fishing today!
With your hooks in the water and your line tight,
I'm sure you would have had a catch or two.
But now it's just a cloudy afternoon,
And all the fish are hiding away.
There's not a fish in the sea today!
Oh, pretty maiden all in blue,
You can't blame them for wanting to stay away.
The water's cloudy and the wind is cool,
And there's nothing to tempt them to bite.
Maybe tomorrow, when the sun shines bright,
You'll have a better chance of catching something.
In the meantime, I'll go fishing some other day
