Conflicts In My Mind

How do I know?
What if I fail?
What if I succeed?
Can I do this?
Should I, will I, be able to?
I'm worried about tomorrow.
I'm worried about a hundred other things.

Do I go to the city? Do I stay in my town?
Do I follow my dreams, or settle for what's safe?
I can't decide, I don't know what's right.
I want to be happy but I also want to be loved.
I will never live up to expectations.
I'm not smart enough and I'm too scared.
Should I take the risk or just give up?

It is the questions that keep me up at night.
The possibility of life alone,
Empty and devoid of love;
My mind wanders to what I could have done wrong,
Why my heart will be forever broken.
I can't stop thinking about the potential missteps I may make.
I fear that I may never know true happiness.

The world is a road.
It has many paths, each one different from the last,
But the traveler must choose one.
Each path has its ups and downs, but the traveler must choose only one.
The traveler needs peace to make that decision.
But how can he find it?
He looks to their friends, but they do not know the answer.
He looks to their family, but they do not know the answer either.
Then he turns to himself, but he is too afraid to make that decision on his own.

The numerous worries for the future weigh on me as I make my decision
I can't stop thinking about the judgment I'll face if I choose wrongly.
Will my friends and family shun me?
Will they leave me?
Or will they stay by my side, never judging?
I have no clue, but I can't bear the thought of being alone
Of having no one there to support me when times get tough.

Hive Blog Posting Month

The Hive Blog Posting Month is a challenge where you post an article every day for the month of April. I have started posting daily since the middle of March and so I was very happy when I came across this challenge and I hope that it will help me to maintain my momentum.
