A French Bordeaux from the right bank, not quite from the well known region of St.Emilion, but just outside of it.
Same respective climate and growing conditions, terroir is similar and Merlot heavy red style, but outside of the AOC designation and as such offers a much lighter price, around $40 CAD. Searching for wines just outside of designation, of old ancient, sometimes archaic rules offer a steal of a deal for quality bottles.
This wine is farmed organically and biodynamically but uncertified in both, 24monthes in oak, unfined and unfiltered. Vegan friendly.
Blend of 85% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec, and 1% Carmenere

Nose: a little shy, took some time to open up. Did not decant
Dried cherry, stewed red fruits, medicinal gauze, old farm board,
Pallet: Well intergrated tannins, lush mouth feel,
Heavy stewed red fruits and alcohol, tobacco, dried blueberry and mushroom.
Would recommend.
Cheers!
