Christiano Van Zellers took over producing port after his father died when he was young, just 20 years old in 1981. Prior to that his family was responsible for Quinta du Nova, the oldest said port house in the Douro. Years of tradition and experience.
Got an opportunity to taste and try some very beautiful wines produced by him during a Portugese themed dinner.. this 10 year old Tawny being one of them. Love the colour!

Nose: Blanched nuts, oxidized iron/rust, carmalized
Pallet: Toffee sugar, burnt beets, sweet sugar cane, still a bit of balanced acidity.
Port holds a special place in my heart. Having worked and lived in the Douro, I truly enjoy the wines from there.
Cheers!
