Quarantine and the limitations imposed by it changed a lot in our lives, I would say forever in a way. For me personally it was a good time to hit the pause button and restart a hobby that has always relaxed me and destressed me, and that is sewing.
Same is for other people, some started practicing yoga, gardening, spent more time with their family at home, spent more time with their pets also.
So, my point is that we had to find something to do differently that could keep us busy and at the same time make us feel a bit better.
Of course everyone’s quarantine experience was different, so this is why the topic can be expanded so broadly.
This is my illustration with the theme "what made me feel better during quarantine".
I listed my things that I use when sewing and, made a sketch.
Imported in Photoshop and traced with the pen tool
I added some ink textures: (Actually I made lots more different sorts of marks, 5 more pages to be more precise ) but only used this one in my illustration.
And that is my final result. And I plan on turning it into a repeat pattern and make a mockup in Photoshop on a shirt or dress.
Now, I'll be holding a small contest with the same theme "what made you feel better during quarantine?" in the form of illustration, no matter if it's in ink, watercolours, sketch or digital and no matter if beginner or advanced.
