I want to share about the second day of our youth camp, where I was one of the facilitators.
It was a fun and active day, and I was happy to help guide the campers during the activities. Even though being a facilitator came with responsibilities, I still enjoyed spending time with everyone and seeing them have fun.
One of the activities we prepared was the “Amazing Race.” The campers were divided into groups and went to different stations to complete challenges.
The first station was the "Follow my voice", where they are blindfolded and they need to follow their leader's voice, next was the "Sack Race" with a twist, because two people should be in the sack jumping together, next was the "Worm race", where a balloon was in between of the participants and they need to be connected until they finish the race, next was "Cook an egg", where they need to cook an egg using a bond paper, and more stations I cannot state because there were so many.
I was assigned in the Station 3, where the young people needed to cook an egg using a bond paper. As a facilitator, I explained the mechanics, guided the participants, and made sure everything went smoothly.
It was nice to see the groups working together, helping one another, and enjoying every game. Everyone was excited and full of energy throughout the activity.
After the Amazing Race, we had the Big Volleyball Game. Instead of using a regular volleyball, we used a giant beach ball, which made the game more fun and funny. Everyone was laughing while trying to hit the ball because it was difficult to control.
Some players missed the ball, while others ran around trying to save it from falling. Watching everyone enjoy the game made me happy as a facilitator.
The activities helped the campers build teamwork and friendship. It was also a good experience for me because I learned how to guide and encourage others while making sure everyone felt included.
The second day of the youth camp was tiring but very enjoyable. I am thankful that I became part of it as one of the facilitators who helped make the activities successful and meaningful for everyone.
