Hello my fellow Hivers! Have a wonderful day!🌿💛
Today was a tiring but happy day for us. We had our scheduled cleaning, painting and preparation for our community garden because judging for our barangay fiesta is next week. We’re all excited, but we also know there’s still a lot to do. We are now rushing and doing it double time.
We started early in the morning. Even though we were only a few in the community who showed up, you could really feel the teamwork. No one complained. Everyone just started working and suggesting. Some were doing carpentry, fixing small structures in the garden. Others were painting to make the place look fresh and organized. We chose color yellow and white as a combination color of our garden. I helped with planting. We filled the empty spaces with flowers and vegetables so the garden would look more complete and alive.
As time passed, the garden slowly looked good. Some were sweeping, others were cutting and gathering bamboo to use for a nursery area. The work was tiring, but seeing the progress made us happy and hoping for successful community garden during the judging day. 🌻
I realized that sometimes it’s easier to manage when the group is small. Communication is faster, easy to give instruction and you can really feel the unity and excitement. Everyone participates, and every effort count, big or small.
In our barangay, there are 8 puroks or community competing for the judging next week. So yes, there is a bit of pressure, but it’s a good kind of pressure. It motivates us to do better. Not everyone can help physically because of work or important matters, but they still support us by giving voluntary contributions for snacks. That really helps a lot. Our barangay also provided a budget for paint and other materials.
We’re not done yet. We still need to work on our bulletin board. Documentation is very important in our barangay and municipality, so we need to prepare it properly. That will be our next focus organizing records, photos, and presentation.
Overall, even if it was hot and tiring, it was all worth it. We’re not just fixing a garden, we’re also building stronger connections as a community. It feels good to be part of something like this.
Thank you for reading my story about my community. This is my owned picture, edited in Canva. Next week is the big day. But whatever the result is, we already feel like winners because of our teamwork, effort, and unity. Have a nice day! 💚💛
