We left our homes really early one morning to head out to the province. We had been wanting to go somewhere together for ages so everyone was up and ready even before the sun was fully up. We packed some water and snacks thinking we had just eat along the way we had no idea we had find such a great place to stop.
As we drove the roads got twistier and we started going up into the hills. Then suddenly we saw a small sign that said “Eat & Rest Here”. We were getting hungry anyway so we decided to pull over. The moment we got out of the car we could feel the difference right away..
The air was not hot and heavy like it is in the city it was clean and fresh and you could smell all the green trees and plants around us. There was a little platform with red flooring up on stilts and when we climbed up there wow we could see so far!
Big mountains stretched out in front of us and they were covered in soft white clouds. It looked like the mountains were hiding under fluffy blankets. We sat down at a table under a small roof just enough to keep the sun off us.
The people who ran the place brought us breakfast. It was all simple stuff hot vegetable soup that tasted like it was made just that morning
fresh mangoes and bananas they had picked from their own trees warm bread with butter and even some homemade jam.
We did not order anything fancy but every bite was really good. While we ate the wind kept blowing gently it felt so nice on our skin and it made us forget all the busy work we left behind in the city.
After we finished eating we walked around the place a bit. There was a small grassy area where a couple of colorful tents were set up they said people can camp there if they want to stay longer. All around were plants and trees some with bright red flowers on them. The only sounds we could hear were birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind. It was so quiet and peaceful we just stood there for a while looking at everything.
We only planned to stay for an hour or so, but we ended up staying much longer. We did not think that just stopping to eat would be the best part of our whole trip. It made us realize that you don’t need to go to expensive places to have a good time. Sometimes the best moments come when you least expect them like finding a quiet spot in the hills where you can just slow down and take a break from all the noise and rush of everyday life..
