There’s just something about being out in the countryside that hits different, you know? A little while back, we headed out for a quick camping trip right by a peaceful creek and wow it was exactly what we needed! From the moment we stepped foot there you could feel how different the air was.
It smelled so fresh like damp earth and green leaves and the gentle sound of water flowing was like the best background music ever. No loud traffic, no busy crowds just pure calm.
Our setup was super simple but cozy we pitched a small glamping style tent right near the creek bank, where we could hear the water all day and night. We threw in a couple of comfy chairs in front so we could just sit back and soak everything in whenever we wanted. The creek itself was calm and still with water so clear it perfectly mirrored the fluffy white clouds up above and all the trees that lined its banks.
Even the water had little pops of color pink water lilies floating on top like nature’s own decorations making the whole place look even prettier. When we sipped our morning coffee there we watched the sun peek through the tall tree branches casting cool little shadows all over the grassy ground.
The best part hands down was how refreshing the view was no matter where we looked. Rolling green hills stretched out in every direction, dotted with all kinds of trees some tall and slender others wide and leafy. The sky was bright blue most of the day with clouds that looked like cotton balls drifting slowly by.
At night everything changed the sky lit up with so many stars you could barely count them and the only sounds you had hear were crickets chirping frogs croaking softly and the soft gurgle of the creek as it wound its way through the landscape. Come morning we woke up to birds singing their hearts out and the warm sun slowly climbing over the hilltops, painting everything in golden light.
You don’t need to bring a ton of fancy stuff to have a great time here either. The place itself does all the work being surrounded by all that green and the gentle flow of water makes you forget all about the hustle back in the city.
Sometimes the simplest trips are the best ones right? We just brought some snacks our sleeping bags and a camera to snap a few pics and that was more than enough to make it a trip we won’t forget.
