Hello Hive Fam! A special shout-out to my fellow Filipino Hive blog writers…I’m so glad to share another slice of life here in Bulacan with you all.
Today’s lunch was extra special. My generous neighbor, who never fails to put a smile in my heart, cooked chicken tinola for her and her husband. Their sons already have their own families, so it’s just the two of them living together.
Since I moved here to Bulacan, I’ve felt like their daughter. They always look out for me and today was no exception. She handed me a warm bowl of tinola; fragrant with ginger, rich with chicken broth, and comforting in every way.
It wasn’t just food; it was a gesture of love and care. Every sip reminded me of home, of family, and of the beautiful Filipino tradition of sharing meals as an act of connection.
What touched me most wasn’t just the taste of the dish, but the thoughtfulness behind it. My neighbor’s kindness makes me feel rooted in this community, even though I’m away from my own family. It’s these small acts that remind me how blessed I am to be surrounded by people who treat me like family.
Thank you, Hive Fam, for reading my little story today. May we all continue to celebrate the simple joys of life(like a bowl of tinola shared with love) and the bonds that make our communities feel like home.
