Me and all my relatives have been saying forever that we need to go on a proper vacation together. We live in Butuan and we are always busy with work or school, so when we finally said “let’s just do it let’s head to Bohol!” nobody said no. The drive there took ages but honestly?
With everyone chatting and joking around the whole time it flew by. We were all arguing about where to go first some wanted to see the river right away others were already thinking about food! When we got there wow. The photos we saw online don’t even do it justice.
You know those pics with the super green river water and all the trees and coconut palms around it? Yeah, it’s way prettier when you are actually there. We rented a boat one day to go up the river and it was so chill the wind felt nice
the sun was not too hot and every time we turned a corner there was something new to look at. Sometimes there were big houses right by the water other times little shacks where local folks live. We were all snapping photos non-stop
trying to get every single view on our phones. But let’s be real here the food was amazing. We tried all the stuff Bohol’s known for. The roast chicken was so good they use their own spices and it tastes nothing like
what we get back home. We had kinilaw too super fresh fish mixed with lime and chillies and they even keep it cold with spring water. And don’t get me started on the mangoes and white cheese those mangoes were so sweet
I could have eaten a whole crate by myself! One night we ate at this place right on the river bank and we watched the sun go down the sky turned all orange and pink and it looked so cool reflecting on the water.
We were all laughing so hard at silly family stories passing plates around and just having the best time ever. It was not just about getting away from all the boring daily stuff we have to do. Being there together made us feel
closer as a family. All the fun we had how pretty everything was and all that great food i know we will be talking about this trip for years and years. Seriously, best escape ever!
