If you use the feeds at the top of your screen, next to the PeakD logo, you will see that you can make your own lists, under My Lists. I will show you how to make a list and some ideas of when to a list is good to have in Feeds.
The first reason that I made a list is that I wanted to see what my followers were posting. People you follow can be found already in a list under Following Feed. However, I wanted a list of people who follow me as a feed. I follow all of my followers and many more people under the Following Feed. But sometimes, I want to see the posts of my followers only, so that's why I made my first list. The written direction for each step is below the photo.
STEP 1
Select Profile under your user name. In the photos, refer to highlighted or text circle in red.
STEP 2
Select Followers. You can select Followers under your user name and beside your Avatar. This will open up a mid-level selection menu of Blog All Posts
Replies Collection Connections. Click on Connections. Then you can select Followers to see a list of your Followers.
STEP 3
Since I am making a list of my followers that I want to see in a special feed, I select a new follower and then select Manage and Add/remove from lists. I hope my new follower doesn't mind being the star in my blog about My Lists! Since this is My Lists, I can add all or just some of my followers. And I can add and remove followers from My Lists without removing them from the Followers section of PeakD.
STEP 4
At this point, I have two choices. I can add to an existing list, which I will do since my list of followers is titled Methodofmadlist; and in addition, I can create a new list from here also. Note that where I have highlighted it reads Character limit is 20 (text I added), which is to indicate that your new list name cannot exceed 20 characters. If you are having trouble with the ADD button not responding, reduce your character count in your list name.
STEP 5
I want to make a new list so I type Creatives 2 Follow, which is a name that describes the list I am creating. My list will be a list of people that have special creative hobbies. In the future, I may make a list of people who write short fiction and I will name that list FavoriteFictionWriters.
STEP 6
I click each square to make it blue and add to both my lists.
STEP 7
Now to see the results of my work:
Under Connections, there is my list Creatives 2 Follow, which I select. Currently, only is on my list. But I know there are lots of creative people that I want to follow. Since this list is all about the most creative people I find on Peakd, I am sure it will soon be a very big list for me. And I can add a new user from here.
STEP 8
A very creative person on Peakd is , so I type his name (highlighted area) and click ADD. He is now on my list of Creatives 2 Follow.
STEP 9
I save to my Creatives 2 Follow list.
Step 10
There are now lists under My Lists in Feeds!
Now when I go to Feeds, I can select my lists and see the two lists that I have created.
Lists have lots of possibilities.
Maybe you like fishing and you notice some people post about fishing often. You could make a list called Fishing Folks and add Hivers/users that post about fishing. Then when you want to check out the latest posts from those people, just click your Fishing Folks! Of course, you will see their posts that may not be fishing related, which is fine, because I want learn more about people that I have at least one shared interest.
Or maybe you would like to make a list of people from a specific state or country that you want to support with upvotes when they post very good content. You could make a list called France Favorites. Or maybe you want a list of bloggers that posts often about improving your finances like , so you make a list about people who can help you become a millionaire!
What lists you make and who you add to the lists, is totally up to you. My Lists are only for you and only appear in your @Peakd account. Lists are a great tool that @Peakd provides to its users.
I hope you have found this blog easy to follow and useful.
Speaking of creative people to follow, I need to add to my list, Creatives 2 Follow. He made the Hive Methodofmad banner!
