Well, you might be surprised but I myself am a big fan of nuclear power, and of the reasons why I think that for the time being it is the best source of energy for humanity is the fact that it doesn't produce carbon emissions.
Yes, obviously if things go wrong they go really wrong with nuclear. But truthfully, nuclear energy has killed the least amount of people out of our traditional means of producing energy.
I'd also like to stress out that I don't think we shouldn't use solar, wind or other renewable sources, but we shouldn't just rely purely on them as they come with their own risks.
