This is an interesting new research a friend sent me, knowing I am into silver, ai and tech in general.
Now, this is not really my field so this is just he quick gist from the little I understood.
For starters, this is a totally new approach to machine intelligence, that moves away from the current software AI systems that are energy-intensive and instead uses a physical neural network made from silver nanowires. These nanowires are around one thousandth the width of a human hair.
Supposedly, these networks mimic the random network structure of neurons in the human brain and exhibit brain-like behaviors in response to electrical signals.
Our nanowire networks display brain-like behaviours in response to electrical signals. External electrical signals cause changes in how electricity is transmitted at the points where nanowires intersect, which is similar to how biological synapses work. source
Apparently, they look something like this:
This type of ai system falls in the field called neuromorphic computing / engineering which strives to create bio-inspired computer systems and hardware:
Neuromorphic computing is a method of computer engineering in which elements of a computer are modeled after systems in the human brain and nervous system. The term refers to the design of both hardware and software computing elements. source
The researchers claim this new system is good at learning on the fly, like we humans do, instead of batch-learning like current AI systems do:
In conventional machine learning, data is fed into the system and processed in batches.
The online learning approach enabled by our nanowire network is more efficient than conventional batch-based learning in AI applications. source
For now, the researchers know the system is able to learn, identify and remember hand written numbers like the ones below:
Captcha spammers would love this 😂
Apparently, this new ai system is nowhere as strong as the current ones but researchers claim there is a lot of potential as the they have only started to scratch the surface!
Who knows, maybe the future of AI is silver? Who knows!
Anyways, here's a link to the actual paper, it's too technical for me. And here's the dumbed down press release for idiots like us.
In other news, after some ups and downs in the last 3 months, my finances are back where I feel comfortable to continue buying silver like I used to. Actually, I just made an order for about 2 oz worth of silver and probably getting some more in the few hours left in 2023.
What did I get? A Morgan and a peace dollar. And this is gonna be my first peace dollar, woohoo! I'll probably have them by the end of next week, can't wait to get my hands on them 🙌

Here's a quick treat if you reached all the way down here. I will be giving 5 Hbi (total of 10) to two lucky winners, just re-blog the post for a chance to enter. No vote required 🤗
The last time's winners are and
. I will get their hbis soon after publishing this post 🥳🥳
