Down in the Western Cape of South Africa there is a small coastal town called Simons Town, it is the most incredible place to visit and feel like you are taking a step back in time! Not only is it a great place to view the famous African penguin colony but the little town also holds a lot of history, it is the perfect beach town! Grab a bicycle and ride along the streets, stopping at the eclectic antique and coffee shops as you go!
And when you do visit this beautiful place, don't forget to stop by Jubilee Square to say hi to the famous "Just Nuisance" statue. Just Nuisance was a gorgeous Great Dane and best friend of the navy and the only dog ever to be enlisted in the Royal Navy! When he died he was buried with full military honours.
Just Nuisance has his very own wine and a birthday parade every year!
Isn't this so special, Just Nuisance was the best friend to so many during World War Two... dogs really are the greatest four-legged friends!
