As a water-loving beach baby, I was beyond excited to visit this aquarium down in Cape Town! It is a beautiful home to plenty rescued sea-life and is an amazing educational outing with tons of beautiful fishies! Fun fact: At the tip of South Africa is where two oceans meet, hence the name "Two Oceans Aquarium."
I thought I would share some of my favourite photos from this trip I took back in 2015. If you do end up taking a visit, make sure to check out the shark feeding, they give a great teaching about sharks as well, definitely worth it!
Dory making a swim for it!
And we found Nemo... and more Nemos!
The coolest part was being able to pop your head in the cylinder in the middle of the tank and watch all the Nemos swim around you, making you feel like you were swimming along with them. Watching fish swim is super relaxing!
The scariest looking sea creature... he was also way bigger than you would expect!
This guy right here was my favourite spotting of the day, he looks like he's got the cutest smile and just followed me around the side of his tank!
We got the chance to watch them feed the penguins which was insanely exciting, they each have to walk up to the feeder and get their name ticked off of the list as they get a fishy handed over to them. These little creatures are so cute and lovable but man do they smell bad! 🐧 I was slightly taken aback by the intense fish smell when you walk into their enclosure but then you remember that they are wild sea creatures whose diet consists of fish... so just prepare yourself when you visit them.
Honestly though, the smell can never take away from their cuteness! Look at this little dancer!
Have a look at their website for feeding times, shows available and ticket prices for when you are heading through to visit so you don't miss what you would like to see! https://www.aquarium.co.za
