Hello everyone, today I bring you a different post than usual, because this time it is not an excursion but a visit to the Parolini garden in Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza.

Ciao a tutti, oggi vi porto un post diverso dal solito, perchè questa volta non si tratta di un'escursione ma della visita al giardino Parolini a Bassano del Grappa, in provincia di Vicenza.
The interesting aspect is that after a two-year break due to the pandemic, cultural events and more have begun again and on April 9th and 10th there was the "Rara Pianta" (rare plant) exhibition market.

L'aspetto interessante è che dopo due anni di pausa a causa della pandemia, sono ricominciate le manifestazioni culturali e non solo e lo scorso 9 e 10 aprile c'è stata la mostra mercato "Rara Pianta".
Admission was free and open to all: enthusiasts, onlookers and families and it was an opportunity to spend a beautiful day getting to know rare plants in the historic garden.

L'ingresso era gratuito ed aperto a tutti: appassionati, curiosi e famiglie ed è stata un'occasione per passare una bella giornata conoscendo anche piante rare in giardino storico.
There were many nurserymen who sold their ornamental or fruit plants but not only.

C'erano moltissimi vivaisti che vendevano le loro piante ornamentali o da frutto ma non solo.
There was a stand that exhibited many varieties of apples, including ancient ones.

C'era uno stand che esponeva moltissime varietà di mele, anche antiche.
There were also areas dedicated to aromatic and medicinal herbs.

C'erano anche aree dedicate alle erbe aromatiche e officinali.
Besides, there were artists from a school of painting who dabbled in floral paintings, I must say some were not bad!

Every now and then the gaze ended on the statues of the garden which, having been built in 1805, also has monumental trees.

Ogni tanto lo sguardo finiva sulle statue del giardino che essendo stato realizzato nel 1805 presenta anche delle alberature monumentali.
One section was dedicated to bulbs and seeds...

Then there were the bonsai. Some specimens awarded in a previous event were exhibited.

Poi c'erano i bonsai. Erano esposti lcuni esemplari premiati in una precedente manifestazione.
Another exhibitor had the painted clay pots...a good idea to liven up your garden.

Un altro espositore aveva i vasi di terracotta dipinti...una buona idea per vivacizzare il proprio giardino.
Then I came to the permanent greenhouses of the Parolini garden.

Poi sono giunto alle serre permanenti del giardino Parolini.
I particularly liked the part about orchids.

In particolare ho apprezzato la parte sulle orchidee.
It is amazing how many varieties of orchids there are.

Once I visited the greenhouses I headed for artificial ponds.

Una volta visitate le serre mi sono diretto verso stagni artificiali.
A few meters away there was an exhibition of photographs of a photo club...some of the photos were nice, but in my opinion nothing exciting.

Qualche metro più in là c'era l'esposizione delle fotografie di un club fotografico...alcune foto erano carine, ma a mio parere niente di esaltante.
It was nice to visit the garden and the market exhibition, I also bought some currant plants, I think I will be back next year. To end the day in style then I took a nice walk in the city center, there was also the urban market.

E' stato bello visitare il giardino e la mostra mercato, ho anche acquistato alcune piante di ribes, penso proprio che il prossimo anno ci tornerò. Per concludere la giornata in bellezza poi ho fatto una bella passeggiata in centro città, c'era anche il mercato urbano.
