Today I'm going to tell you about my trip to the Nature Reserve in Orlovo. This is a reserve created to protect the pond turtle. It is located in the vicinity of two lakes and covers just under 15 hectares.
Together with Matthew we arrived in Orlowo in the early afternoon. However, we had to wait in the car for a while because dark clouds had gathered around and a thunderstorm was forecast. Fortunately, after a brief rain shower, the sky brightened up.
In the meantime, we met a local resident, which turned out to be a good opportunity to ask for directions. Unfortunately, apart from the right way, we also learned that the mud turtles that are supposed to be under protection in the reserve became extinct some time ago. However, this did not discourage us and we moved on.
Walking further into the forest, we came across a lake. There was also a bridge there. I found it hard to believe that such a beautiful place was so close to me, so we spent a while there enjoying the view and taking photos, and then went deeper into the forest.
Of course, there was no shortage of my favourite macro shots :)
In the middle of the woods, we came across a wooden structure, you could say shaped like a turret, with stairs leading up to it. It made me think of the watchtower where Chase Andrews from 'Where the Crawdads Sing' was murdered, and this was because the area was quite overgrown and looked as if no one had been there for a long time. There was a footbridge a little way from the site, which unfortunately we couldn't walk all the way across because it was dilapidated. This made it impossible for us to go any further, so we decided to turn back.
On the way back we could see the lake breaking through the branches of the forest trees. It was a beautiful sight.
I think the nature is wonderful, but unfortunately the state of the reserve is not one of the best. It is heavily neglected and littered in places. Despite the fishermen wandering around the lake, it is hard to say that it enjoys the interest of tourists. All in all, although it was a nice break among nature and time well spent for me, I was sad to go home with the thought that other people do not respect this place.

Dziś opowiem o mojej wyprawie do Rezerwatu Przyrody w Orłowie. Jest to rezerwat stworzony w celu ochrony żółwia błotnego. Znajduje się w sąsiedztwie dwóch jezior i zajmuje niecałe 15 hektarów.
Razem z Mateuszem przyjechaliśmy do Orłowa wczesnym popołudniem. Musieliśmy jednak chwilę poczekać w samochodzie, ponieważ dookoła zebrały się ciemne chmury i zapowiadało się na burzę. Na szczęście po krótkotrwałym deszczu niebo się rozjaśniło.
W międzyczasie spotkaliśmy lokalnego mieszkańca, co okazało się dobrą okazją, aby zapytać o drogę. Niestety oprócz właściwej drogi, dowiedzieliśmy się też, że żółwie błotne mające być pod ochroną w rezerwacie wyginęły już jakiś czas temu. Nie zraziło nas to jednak i ruszyliśmy dalej.
Krocząc dalej w las, natknęliśmy się na jezioro. Znajdował się tam również mostek. Ciężko było mi uwierzyć, że tak piękne miejsce znajduje się tak blisko mnie, dlatego spędziliśmy tam chwilę podziwiając widoki i robiąc zdjęcia, po czym poszliśmy w głąb lasu.
Nie zabrakło oczywiście moich ulubionych zdjęć makro :)
W środku lasu natrafiliśmy na drewniany obiekt, można powiedzieć, że w kształcie wieżyczki, do której prowadziły schody. Skojarzyło mi się z wieżą obserwacyjną, na której został zamordowany Chase Andrews z "Gdzie śpiewają raki", a to dlatego, że okolica była dość mocno zarośnięta i wyglądała, jakby nikogo w niej nie było przez dłuższy czas. Kawałek drogi od tego miejsca znajdowała się kładka, po której niestety nie mogliśmy przejść do końca, ponieważ była zniszczona. Uniemożliwiło nam to pójście w dalszą wędrówkę, dlatego postanowiliśmy zawrócić.
Wracając mogliśmy dostrzec jezioro przebijające się przez gałęzie leśnych drzew. To był piękny widok.
Uważam, że przyroda jest wspaniała, ale niestety stan rezerwatu nie należy do najlepszych. Jest mocno zaniedbany i miejscami zaśmiecony. Mimo szwędających się w okolicach jeziora rybaków ciężko powiedzieć, że cieszy się zainteresowaniem ze strony turystów. Podsumowując, chociaż był to dla mnie miły odpoczynek wśród natury i dobrze spędzony czas, przykro było mi wracać do domu z myślą, że inni ludzie nie szanują tego miejsca.
