Bigar waterfall is located by the river with the same name near the city of Bozovici in Caraș Severin county, is marked as a natural monument and is also one of the most spectacular waterfall in Romania. It rises from an underground spring and runs conically along a limestone wall completely covered with moss. It has been included in The World Geography's list of the world's most impressive waterfalls. It even ranks first in the world ahead of the Eternal Flame Waterfall in New York State USA, the Blood Falls in Antarctica, Svartifoss in Iceland and the Labasin Waterfall in the Philippines.
Appreciated and admired by all who have seen it, this Waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Europe and perhaps even in the world. A work of art sculpted by nature exactly at the 45th parallel halfway between the North Pole and the equator.
Nearby there is also a small well guarded restaurant where you can eat and drink something.
The impressive moss-covered falls are located in the forests of the Anina Mountains and are fed by an underground spring that flows into the Minis River.
Have a lovely Day!
