Después de una merecida comida, que olvidé compartirles en mi post anterior (pero aquí la tienen), nos dirigimos al museo de las ciencias que queda cerca del Oceanogràfic. Estaba muy emocionada de continuar nuestra travesía. La verdad, no había investigado mucho sobre lo que encontraría allí: mi cabeza estaba más puesta en el acuario. Al llegar, me sorprendió que la entrada fuera bastante modesta, más sencilla que la del Oceanogràfic, y para mi suerte no estaba tan concurrido, probablemente porque ya era de tarde.
After a well-deserved meal, which I forgot to mention in my previous post (but here it is), we headed to the science museum near the Oceanogràfic. I was very excited to continue our journey. To be honest, I hadn't done much research on what I would find there: my mind was more focused on the aquarium. When we arrived, I was surprised that the entrance was quite modest, simpler than that of the Oceanogràfic, and luckily for me, it wasn't as crowded, probably because it was already late in the afternoon.
Me encantó descubrir que había un área especial para niños: ventanas interactivas, juegos de ciencia y zonas donde los más pequeños podían tocar y experimentar. Esos espacios le daban un aire divertido al museo, haciéndolo ideal tanto para familias como para quienes, como yo, amamos la ciencia y la curiosidad. En la Planta Baja podíamos encontrar cosas como este perrito robot y el huevo de Colón:
I loved discovering that there was a special area for children: interactive windows, science games, and areas where little ones could touch and experiment. These spaces gave the museum a fun atmosphere, making it ideal for families as well as those who, like me, love science and curiosity. On the ground floor, we could find things like this robot dog and Columbus' egg:
Subimos al primer piso y ahí había una exhibición sobre Leonardo Da Vinci que me fascinó, había muchísimas piezas creadas por él, desde máquinas y aparatos, hasta pinturas y diseños de arquitectura. Ver cómo Da Vinci combinaba arte, ciencia e ingenio fue muy interesante.
We went up to the first floor, where there was an exhibition on Leonardo Da Vinci that fascinated me. There were many pieces created by him, from machines and devices to paintings and architectural designs. Seeing how Da Vinci combined art, science, and ingenuity was very interesting.
Algunas partes eran interactivas, como esta donde te decían que tan perfectas eran tus dimensiones.
Some parts were interactive, like this one where they told you how perfect your measurements were.
Luego entramos a un espacio donde podías hacer tu propia obra siguiendo un video tutorial, tuvimos como 7 minutos para lograrlo, iba súper rápido, ¿qué les parece nuestros resultados? el de la izquierda es mía y el de la derecha el de mi novio.
Then we entered a space where you could make your own piece following a video tutorial. We had about seven minutes to do it, and it went really fast. What do you think of our results? The one on the left is mine, and the one on the right is my boyfriend's.
Otro de los momentos más divertidos fue entrar al teatro de las ciencias, donde mostraron varias demostraciones con máquinas grandes que generaban electricidad. Fue increíble ver la energía en acción, y me hubiera encantado que mi novio o yo hubiésemos tenido la oportunidad de participar como voluntarios, pero no fue así, en esta ocasión solo público.
Another of the most enjoyable moments was entering the science theater, where they showed several demonstrations with large machines that generated electricity. It was incredible to see the energy in action, and I would have loved for my boyfriend or me to have had the opportunity to participate as volunteers, but that wasn't the case; on this occasion, we were just members of the audience.
También recorrimos exhibiciones sobre la Tierra, Marte, ADN, el cuerpo humano y música, y es que en todas ellas la ciencia se relaciona de una u otra forma, aunque esta parte no estuvo tan interesante como las otras.
We also visited exhibitions on Earth, Mars, DNA, the human body, and music, all of which were related to science in one way or another, although this part was not as interesting as the others.
Investigué un poco y descubrí que este museo forma parte de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, un complejo arquitectónico impresionante diseñado por Santiago Calatrava. El edificio del museo, llamado Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe, tiene más de 40.000 m² y su forma recuerda el esqueleto de una ballena. Muchas de sus exhibiciones son rotativas, así que cada visita puede ser completamente distinta, ¡toca esperar que tienen en exhibición cuando volvamos a Valencia!
I did some research and discovered that this museum is part of the City of Arts and Sciences, an impressive architectural complex designed by Santiago Calatrava. The museum building, called the Prince Felipe Science Museum, covers more than 40,000 m² and its shape resembles a whale skeleton. Many of its exhibits are rotating, so each visit can be completely different. We'll just have to wait and see what they have on display when we return to Valencia!
