Pattaya City is a coastal city only 150 km from Bangkok City and is the closest major beach resort from the capital city it's a city that is always vibrant full of fun with many activities to suit anyone's need. From sunrise to sunset this city never sleeps during the day the beaches are constantly brimming with life people from all corners of the world will come here escaping the cold and snow taking to the warm tropical waters of this paradise.

After a day on the beach indulging in all them water sports and soaking up some Vitamin D, everyone is energized the nightlife kicks in the action shifts to the streets with many nightclubs, drinking bars, restaurants drinking and partying will continue until dawn but unfortunately at the moment like everywhere else in the world with this pandemic it is a lot quieter without the tourist but on weekends many locals from Bangkok city will make there way to this resort area and enjoy the beaches and nightlife.

Pattaya city itself has two main roads they are both one way roads and run parallel to each other for a strectch of about 3km each and in between there are many, many other little roads where you will find drinking bars, massage shops, restaurants, street vendors, hotels and ect, the road that runs along the beach is called Beach Road Pattaya and the road parallel to Beach Road Pattaya is called 2nd Road Pattaya, i started of by walking along 2nd Road Pattaya there was plenty to see, it was likely i would get bored, no matter what your interests include you will find and see.

These are some of the many little roads that run in between Beach Road Pattaya and 2nd Road Pattaya and each of these roads in between are jam packed with drinking bars, hostiles, pub restaurant with live music, mixed shops, vendors and ect ; anything you need in Pattaya city it's at your doorstep.

Stick food pork balls and chicken balls.

Barbecue beef bits with some chilli sauce.

After walking the stretch of 2nd Road Pattaya to the top end the road winds around and becomes Beach Road Pattaya you can now see how it got it's name as this road runs along Pattaya beach from this end it will be about another 3 km walk to the bottom end of Pattaya Beach Road along this road you will find the most upper end classy hotels and shopping malls like the Central World Festival Mall, Hilton , Amari, Holiday Inn and many more.

This city has so many unique attractions and sights, apart from the beaches and the nightlife there are water parks, beautiful gardens, Temples, Buddha images, museums, galleries and much more you can either hire a small motorbike or a big motorbike from $5 to $25 per/day or you can jump on these utility trucks that are seen running around the city by the dozens they are the most used public transport anywhere in Thailand, they have bench seats in the back and seat up to 16 people, Thai's call these "Songtows" they will cost you 10 baht ( 30 cents US ) and they will take you around Pattaya city you can get off anywhere you wish pay the driver 10 baht and off you go but each time you jump on another one of these Songtows you must pay that huge fee of 10 baht again.

Loved this hotel it clearly stands out the Royal Cruise Hotel, ship-shaped hotel on Pattaya Beach Road there has really been some brilliant ingenuity gone into designing this hotel it was just amazing to see this huge cruise ship anchored along North Pattaya Beach amongst all these other high end hotels and resorts definitely different, i wouldn't mind spending a couple of nights here you would have the best views in town from the lighthouse.

Continuing walking along Beach Road Pattaya there was so much to see not only unique hotels and resorts, Pattaya may not be a shopper’s paradise in the same class as Bangkok, but there are still considerable amounts of impressive malls, markets and boutique stores and at the other end of Pattaya away from the tourist area you will find many food and clothing local markets at bargain prices. This Wave Hotel caught my eye also with this big old school pink Cadillac sitting out front.

As sunset starts to set in you will see lot's of the locals and foreigners coming out for there evening jog along the wide pathway of Beach Road or on the beach also they will make themselves comfortable on the beach sitting on these beach mats with a few snacks and just watch the sunset disappear behind Kon Lan Island mountains.

My 10 km walk up 2nd Road Pattaya and back down Beach Road Pattaya and in between has come to a end it was certainly an experience, i believe walking is the only way to observe and see the beauty of any city but of course, Pattaya has a huge variety of sights on offer and an organised tour can help you to see as many of them as possible and to learn more about each than you would if you tried to see them all on your own, i will bring some more of these sights in my following posts. For now it's home and a warm bath to smooth my sore feet see you all again real soon.
