“I do not like flowers.”
That’s what I thought. I have always believed that flowers are impractical and get rotten over time. Hence, my boyfriend had only given me flowers once in our long-term relationship. I did not mind it at all. However, there were times that I somehow longed for the feeling of being given flowers. Maybe I was just jealous of others. Haha!
Wazzup, Hivers! It’s me Ann. Wanna have another adventure? Keep on reading.
One day, while hanging out with my boyfriend, I saw a friend who was given a bouquet of flowers, and so I said, “Wow! The flowers are so pretty.” He just went silent and did not mind my comments about the flowers. The next day, he messaged me to prepare as we would go somewhere. I got ready immediately as it was my favorite thing to do—go for an adventure. He just said, we’ll go somewhere that will satisfy my cravings. LOL!
After almost three hours of traveling via motorcycle, we arrived at Balamban, Cebu. We traveled approximately 76.4 kilometers from our location to our destination, relying on Google Maps as we navigated the road. We did not take the city route because we preferred to move to the mountain barangays as a shortcut. It was way better, as it was not too hot to travel, and we passed by different cold locations. The whole travel was so much fun. I get to see the wonders of nature and feel it through the fresh air it brings.
When we finally arrived, I immediately saw the line of people getting to the entrance. At the outset, you will see the tarpaulin of the place and its entrance fee. We paid 100 pesos for each. If you plan to visit the place with a kid, you would have to pay 75 pesos for each child. But mind you, the money you pay is so much worth it. The moment you enter the premises, you can definitely say that it is worth it. The ambiance is super cool and the place is so vibrant with the different types and colors of flowers. We were just in the entrance, but we already had a lot of pictures. Luckily, their staffs were also kind and hospitable. You would not feel shy asking them to take pictures of you.
See that? That’s how vibrant the whole place is. It’s like a painting coming out of its frame.
Buwakan ni Alejandra has a magical aura that you can imagine how time slows to the pace of a lazy bee’s flight in this place. It is not just a place with flowers, it’s like where the earth decided to write love letters in bloom, and every breeze carries a new stanza.
I felt like a character in some magical movie—like a princess. And the person with me is my prince charming—a prince charming who works in silence to make me happy and would prefer to take me to places I once talked about.
Our whole journey was worth remembering and it changed my perception of flowers and deepened my appreciation for the thoughtful gestures of somebody. It was funny that what began as a casual remark about the beauty of flowers evolved into an unforgettable adventure filled with vibrant colors and serene landscapes.
All in all! I recommend to include this place on your bucket list.
