Greetings hivers, hope you all are doing fine.
This is a short blog of my hike to Serolsar Lake also known as Manimahesh Lake situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pardesh, INDIA. In this blog I will be sharing my hike pictures and information about this trek. I hope it will help you if you are planning to visit this place in future.
Seruvalsar Lake commonly known as Serolsar Lake is situated at 5km hike from the Jalori Pass in Kullu District. The high altitude lake is about 10000ft above sea level at the top of Siraj Valley. You can reach Jalori Pass via two routs i.e. from Kullu and Shimla. The best time to visit this place is summers and autumn. You can also witness the snow around the valley in early summers.
The trek is easy-moderate and the path is mostly level with a few uphill/downhill stretches'. There are smalls shops on the road as well as near the lake selling snacks and food. Around the lake we can see the beautiful view of Siraj valley as pictures shared in this blog.
I planned this trek along with my friends in month of December 2021. We started the day from Shimla, early in the chilled morning at 5am we begin our drive to Jalori pass. We packed our things earlier that day and was just ready to roll in the morning. We had our breakfast in Narkanda, and we were at Jalori pass by 1 in the afternoon.
We took our lunch at Jalori pass and packed our things for hike as planned to camp for a night near Serolsar lake. We started our hike at 2pm and it took us about 2 hours to reach our destination. The trek was easy to moderate through a forest of Kharshoo Oak trees and suddenly you get the majestic Serolsar lake surrounded by alpine trees.
By the time we reached the lake it was starting to get dark so we looked for our camping place. We managed to find a place near a local canteen and decided to camp there. We had our dinner at canteen and did the bonfire for the night.
After a cold night we woke up in the morning and went for exploring the area near lake. We managed to some of the attractive places and took some pictures of lake and nearby location. It was getting late for us to go back so we packed our things started heading back. We reached back at Shimla by 8pm and that was all about the trip.
I was not able to explore this trip to its fully adventure but will look for it in the future. I would recommend you start this trek in morning from Jalori pass so that you will cover all the things in this trek in a day. This is a best trek to look near Kullu and Shimla if you are looking for a day hike and and easy hike consists of little downhill/uphill stretches'.
That's all for this blog.
