Hello, my friends.
Well. It's time to continue my story about Karintorf and show the next batch of diesel locomotives of the narrow-gauge railway.
It must be admitted that the samples of equipment, locomotives are not in some special museum room or on a special site, but all the equipment is located on the territory of the railway depot. which was built in 1942. It was a difficult year for the Soviet people. There Was A Great Patriotic War. Men's work had to be done by women. During the retreat of the Soviet Army in 1941, many enterprises from the western regions of the USSR were evacuated to the east inland. Factories began to be built in new places, and electricity was required for their operation. The power plants needed fuel to operate. That is why the small town of Karintorf appeared on peat bogs and a narrow-gauge railway was organized to deliver peat. And first of all, the infrastructure for the operation of this railway was built.
Entrance to the depot museum with a warning sign that entry to strangers is prohibited. But we are not outsiders. People work here on weekdays, and tourists come here on weekends.
This tanker is used to collect peat in swamps. It is dragged by a tractor, and peat is raked into the bunker.
Hand trolley. Every visitor took a ride on it. I thought that my son-in-law wouldn't even get off it, he really liked riding this handcar.
And this is a motor trolley. But you can't just ride it. Local hunters use such trolley for trips to the forest.
These trolleys are assembled by local craftsmen right here, in this depot. But I still don't understand why they are needed if the railway rails are almost all disassembled. The length of the tracks was more than 200 km, and only 12 remained.
When else will these people be able to visit the cab of a diesel locomotive, even though it is not very large? I used to ride in such locomotives very often in my younger years. And when I went back into the cab of this locomotive, I even remembered the smell that happens in them. Oh, this mixture of fuel oil, oil, diesel fuel. This is the smell of my father, the smell of my childhood.
Diesel locomotive TU-2. I have seen such locomotives on the children's railway in Moscow. And I thought it was a cool powerful diesel locomotive. But it turned out that the opposite was true. This is an old diesel locomotive, it has a large size, but there is only one engine inside and its power is less than that of the TU-4. But it looks more perfect!
The cabin of this locomotive is very cramped. And how do I ride it back? I can't see anything!!!! I need to walk with my feet to the other end of the locomotive. Not always what is beautiful is convenient. TU-4, and then TU-7 are more convenient to manage!
The guide said that this crane was made in Finland and that the Finns wanted to come to the museum to look at it. They don't have a single instance of such a railway crane. But the travel situation has changed.
This tractor on rails in my childhood in our forestry farm was called "motovoz". I realized that it is used for railway repair work. There are many different tools inside the cab of this locomotive.
Friends, do you see the handle-a ringlet that hangs on the board? This is a device for manually starting a diesel engine! My father worked on a bulldozer and started the diesel engine of his tractor with the same device. I happened to ride on such a locomotive once.
Such motorcycles have not been produced since the end of the last century. But in the countryside you can still see them. Life in villages that are located at a great distance from the city still remains as in the Soviet past. Time has stopped. That is why people try to leave such places for the city.
This TU-2 locomotive was brought here from Moscow from the children's railway. It needs to be restored. Specialists have a lot of work to do. But I think they will succeed. I saw the result of their work, they were able to restore many locomotives and railway cars and other special railway equipment.
The main restoration work is carried out inside the depot. There is a lot of equipment there, there is not even free space. I'll show it next time. I hope that you, friends, are still interested in seeing this.
I want to express my gratitude to , who helped me solve the problems with my Lightroom subscription. If it wasn't for her help, I wouldn't be able to process my photos and show them to you, friends.
To be continued...
