There are two fairly large lakes in the heart of Yangon: Inya Lake and Kandawgyi Lake. Both are a source of pride for Yangon locals, as open green spaces that can be visited without an entry fee.
I'm very grateful that I finally arrived to Yangon without a tour guide. Honestly, I was very skeptical about this, but actually brave enough to create an itinerary. The reason I went to Yangon was because I want to learn more about the local people, as other travelers has told me they were incredibly friendly.
Of course, to discover this, I had to go to a place where people gathered. That way, I could see for myself and greet people I knew. So, it was here that I learned that they are truly very friendly and polite.
Kandawgyi Lake was on the way to my main destination. This afternoon, I had to head to the bus station, and since it was time to check out of the hotel and my luggage had to be loaded, we decided to head to a place crowded with locals to find a safe place. Besides looking for lunch and leaving my belongings near Kandawgyi Lake, I usually do the same, leaving my suitcase containing only clothes and no valuables. I found a comfortable and safe restaurant, then headed to the lake.
Here I walking around the area, even though I only walk 2 km, the total area of the lake is dozens of times larger than the distance or steps I took. It was very warm that afternoon, but still within reasonable limits, and the breeze strong and gentle, so it didn't feel too hot. I wore light cloth, a hat, and sunglasses.
There are bridges connecting Kandawgyi Lake, making it so beautiful and a favorite spot for locals. Many people were doing activities, even taking videos for content.
Right across from me there is a very beautiful building. Can you guess what it is? it is a temple or a pagoda? It certainly look very similar, but it not a temple, but rather one of Yangon's luxury restaurants.
I approached, hoping to get in, but a reservation was required for lunch. Oh, what a shame, I thought. I can only stay at the door, but I tried my best. I still had a few kyats left, and I figured it be enough to eat at the restaurant.
The design is indeed very interesting, like a ship with a dragon sailing on water. I think eating there would be a very unique experience, especially in Myanmar. I think I'll try to come here again in the future.
See you the next time hive friends!

Hi! Let me introduce myself, its me Wita.
I'm just a woman who wants to write whatever's on my mind. I really enjoy cooking, occasionally traveling, and doing whatever I like. I want to live like a bird flying freely in nature. But I know I'm only human. So, I can only write freely like a bird that can fly with its two wings.
I'm usually very interested in new things. Let me be creative with at least these writings. I welcome any suggestions, as long as you mention them politely in the comments section. We can have a free discussion every now and then.
Don't think too much of me as you see in my posts. I'm just sharing what I have, and some of it is actually quite enjoyable to post. It's just that I don't really like posting bad things. I hope we continue to work together to build this Hive community.
