One of the reasons I want to go to Yangon, Myanmar, is about the Shwedagon Pagoda. Anyone want to go to Myanmar knows this is the place to go. A pagoda on earth, a historic site for Buddhists.
The wonder of the Shwedagon Pagoda isn't just because it's the center of a religion; there's more to it. Like the beauty of the golden glow that illuminates the surrounding area. I take this very seriously. When I first arrived in the city and notice the golden glow of light from our taxi driver, he give me a surprise that made me very happy.
I was skeptical at first, but he said it was the light come from the Shwedagon Pagoda. He took us to a place we not have passed, but for the sake of the stunning view, we passed by. I immediately told him, "I think we should go to the Shwedagon Pagoda" after I dropped off my luggage at the hotel.
After that, I arrived at the Shwedagon Pagoda and paid the entrance fee of around 50,000 kyat. At first, my husband was even mistaken for a Myanmarese, but because I was wearing a scarf and Muslim, they immediately knew I was a tourist. We paid 100,000 kyat for the two of us.
Honestly, that money wasn't worth the priceless sight. I could see the shimmer of real gold on a chedi. It was real gold donated by a queen, and it became a tradition. It's said that there are 50 kg of gold in the chedi's lining, along with diamonds, rubies, and gold bells adorning it.
It truly seemed like a great glory in Myanmar. But despite that, no one had ever tried to loot it. Of course, because it was considered sacred. Who would sin to do such a foolish thing?
The night so bright for me, as if everything was glow, and I felt so happy. I have finally reached this point and been able to visit such a beautiful place. I had only seen it in history books, but now I can stand in front of the real chedi of the Shwedagon Pagoda!
One thing that make me a little sad was that the pagoda was currently undergoing renovations to replace the chedi, which was to undergo cleansing or a ritual. I'm not sure, but the chedi was covered in bamboo, which was actually very visible during the day. So, because of this work, I came here at night, even though it felt like a bit of a stretch. But, it was worth it. It won't disappoint! The vibe and atmosphere were truly beautiful that night.
See you the next time hive friends!

Hi! Let me introduce myself, its me Wita.
I'm just a woman who wants to write whatever's on my mind. I really enjoy cooking, occasionally traveling, and doing whatever I like. I want to live like a bird flying freely in nature. But I know I'm only human. So, I can only write freely like a bird that can fly with its two wings.
I'm usually very interested in new things. Let me be creative with at least these writings. I welcome any suggestions, as long as you mention them politely in the comments section. We can have a free discussion every now and then.
Don't think too much of me as you see in my posts. I'm just sharing what I have, and some of it is actually quite enjoyable to post. It's just that I don't really like posting bad things. I hope we continue to work together to build this Hive community.
