Book Fair in Bangladesh
Hello people of the Hive! Hope so you are doing well! Here am I going to share about Bengali traditional fest in Bangladesh. I am going to tell you about the 21st Book Fair in Bangladesh.
Book Fair History
Every year in the month of February book fair is arranged. This book fair is organised by Bangla Academy. There is a history behind this book fair. February is the month of language for the people of Bangladesh . The Bengali language movement was a political movement in former East Bengal advocating the recognition of the Bengali language in 1952 on 21st February. Which is now celebrated as international mother language day. For this day Book fair is arranged. Book fair not only has the purpose of selling books but also provides others to acquire more knowledge about books and makes it interesting for others to read books oftentimes. People gets attracted toward books. Any book reader can read any type of books over here according to their likes.
Location
Book fair is established in Dhaka at Ramna . In a row there are stalls of books. Different type of writers publish their books over here. Books sections are divided due to their specification. To read anyone can easily find out their favourite writers book .
In book fair various types of people can be seen from children to old anyone can join. Book teaches us to see the world differently in a new way.Different category books are available such as Novel , short story, poem, science , fiction , spying , horror stories and autobiography etc. My favourite is horror and adventure related books.
Writers are also seen in this fair . They love to meet their readers and have a small chat with them. Many famous writers arrives from India to see their favourites. There are many types of people are seen in book fair such as some will visit and purchase books then leave. Some will only visit to read and some wants to meet with their favourite writer and also some people just wants to explore and hang around .
My plan
I went to book fair for a fan meet up and to meet my favourite writer. I only had called few of them because I am introvert it’s hard for me to being around many people. After noon people stars to gather at the book fair. So we had to go in the morning because at that time there would be less gathering.
My outfit
I don’t know why I had decided to wear a hoodie in this hot weather. I was feeling shy I guess that’s why I felt like covering my self up. But the hoodie was cute and also the skirt this was my favourite outfit . I bought it for winter I ended up wearing it in hot weather.
At first it was a headache to find them because there were 3 entry gates at the fair. It was soo confusing . Took 30 mins to everyone gather at the same place. It was hot weather 38 degree and I was sweating a lot.
Then we went to every single stall to see what’s news . And began to read some of them. Others started to purchase their favourite books. I actually wanted to meet my favourite writer Antik Mahmud but unfortunately I could not find his stall. It was taking long time to find his stall. He was supposed to arrive in Friday and Saturday. Went to his stall 3-4 times to see if my favourite writer has arrived but he did not.
I had planned for Friday but I couldn’t because one of my friend was busy with his Girlfriend so had to change the plan to Saturday and Antik Mahmud didn’t arrive on Saturday. I was upset about it anyways got the chance to meet up with my fans that’s more cherishing.
At noon was feeling hungry so we started looking for food stalls.

Precious Fans
Two of them are my old fans since 2020 they have been supporting me it was first time meeting them. Both of them are too much tall. It made me seemed like a minion but my height is 5”5 but these guys made me look like a shortie.
Afternoon
There was a lake at the book fair. Sat there to rest for a while because we have been walking since morning. At afternoon all writers started to arrive at their stalls. There was also a show staged for the kids called “Sisimpur” and kids were enjoying themselves along their parents.
We had roamed around book fair and had lots of fun. The food was good but too much expensive. It was a pleasure to the eyes to see everyone’s happiness at book fair . It was soothing to my eyes. I felt very happy that day.
Fun activities
At the time of leaving book fair saw a stall selling ice creams made of fruits and I thought of trying it. It was my first time having that kind of ice cream and it was bland . I didn’t like the taste at all waste of money. There also was a machine called stamina examiner we all tried it and I was the one with lowest stamina . Because I am skinny it was hard for me to pull that machine . It was quite fun .
It was getting dark at 7:00 pm. A lengthy traffic jam arrived. I had to reach home. Overall it was exciting until this traffic jam.
Review
Over all I would say festival’s in Bangladesh are quite desiring. It does amaze me a lot .
