Today I am going to put the recipes aside and I am going to tell you about a dream tour that I took several times while living in Italy.
It is about the 5 Lands (Cinqueterre in Italian) a little paradise not far from the capital of Liguria, Genoa. To be exact less than 100 kms.
For those who come to Italy as tourists, they should simply look for the A10 (Highway 10) that runs throughout Liguria from South to North and depends on the point where they end up taking towards the South of the peninsula.
For example, if you come from Turin or Milan, you will arrive in Genoa from where it is very easy to take the A10 and head south, like someone heading to Rome.
The first coastal town we come across is Monterosso.
Hoy voy a dejar las recetas de lado y les voy a contar un recorrido de ensueño que realicé varias veces mientras vivía en Italia.
Se trata de las 5 Tierras (Cinqueterre in italiano) un pequeño paraíso no lejos de la capital de la Liguria, Génova. Para ser exactos a menos de 100 kms.
Para los que llegan a Italia como turistas deben simplemente buscar la A10 (Autopista 10) que recorre toda la Liguria desde Sur a Norte y depende del punto donde desemboquen tomar hacia el Sur de la península.
Por ejemplo si vienen desde Turín o Milán llegarán a Génova desde donde es muy fácil tomar la A10 y dirigirse al Sur, como quien va rumbo a Roma.
El primer pueblito costero que encontramos es Monterosso.
Monterosso is the oldest and largest coastal town in the Five Lands. / Monterosso es el pueblo costero más grande y antiguo de las Cinco Tierras.
And from where to start the tour but from the same beach dominated by a 12-meter-high statue of Neptune "planted" in the middle of the rocks.
Y desde donde iniciar el recorrido sino desde la misma playa dominada por una estatua de Neptuno de 12 metros de altura "plantada" en medio de los escollos.
Going up the hill we find the convent of the Capuchin monks.
Subiendo la colina encontramos el convento de la monjes capuchinos.
From there we descend into the colorful historic center, a characteristic of all these five coastal towns.
The brightly colored houses that go from ocher to orange, from blue to sea green and turquoise in a labyrinth of alleys to walk absolutely.
De ahí descendemos en el colorido centro historico, una característica de todos estos cinco pueblitos costeros.
Las casas de colores vivos que van del ocre al naranja, del celeste al verde almar y al turquesa en un laberinto de callejuelas para recorrer absolutamente caminando.
Where we can admire the Church of San Juan Bautista built in the 13th century with its façade and interior columns in perfect Genoese Gothic style.
The church dedicated to San Juan Bautista is located at the beginning of the old town, to the left of the main street, going up towards the mountain.
Its construction began in 1282 and ended in 1307, twenty-five years later.
The bell tower, of medieval origin, rises with a quadrangular base.
Donde podemos admirar la Iglesia de San Juan Bautista construída en el sigli XIII con su fachada y columnas interiores en perfecto estilo gótico genovés.
La iglesia dedicada a San Juan Bautista se encuentra al comienzo del antiguo pueblo, a la izquierda de la calle principal, subiendo hacia la montaña.
Su construcción se inició en 1282 y finalizó en 1307, veinticinco años después.
El campanario, de origen medieval, se alza con una base cuadrangular.
There are so many excursions to do in Monterosso, such as the one that allows you to relive, even indirectly, the close bond between Eugenio Montale and this wonderful land.
The cultural associations operating in Monterosso regularly organize beautiful itineraries, which include history, nature and literature.
One of these excursions leads to Punta Mesco, along a path that passes by the old abandoned lighthouse, behind which the Eremo di Sant'Antonio dominates. Watching the sunset from here is a really exciting experience.
Hay tantas excursiones que hacer en Monterosso, como la que te permite revivir, aunque sea de forma indirecta, el estrecho vínculo entre Eugenio Montale y esta maravillosa tierra.
Las asociaciones culturales que operan en Monterosso organizan regularmente hermosos itinerarios, que incluyen historia, naturaleza y literatura.
Una de estas excursiones conduce a Punta Mesco, por un camino que pasa por el antiguo faro abandonado, detrás del cual domina el Eremo di Sant'Antonio. Ver la puesta de sol desde aquí es una experiencia realmente emocionante.

And so? Sea, sea and more sea. The crystalline waters and the beautiful beaches, such as Fegina, are ready to receive visitors in its small strip of humid land, but which manages to wrap everyone in a unique and warm embrace.
Finally, it only remains to take a quiet and relaxing boat trip along the coast, to admire the earthly nature and its spectacular terraces from a clearly different perspective, crossing crystal clear waters.
¿Y entonces? Mar, mar y más mar. Las aguas cristalinas y las hermosas playas, como la de Fegina, están listas para recibir a los visitantes en su pequeña franja de tierra húmeda, pero que logra envolver a todos en un abrazo único y cálido.
Por último, solo queda dar un tranquilo y relajante paseo en barco por la costa, para admirar la naturaleza terrena y sus espectaculares terrazas desde una perspectiva claramente diferente, atravesando aguas cristalinas.
