Taking advantage of an outing with my son, we had the opportunity to hike along the Pan-American Highway in the Cascajal sector. This area offers a spectacular view of the hill of the same name, which is located on the aforementioned highway and stretches for several kilometers. It begins at the entrance to the El Valle sector and extends to the entrance of the La Llanada sector. Known as Cascajal Hill, it's the ideal spot to witness breathtaking landscapes at sunrise and sunset.
Our visit was in the afternoon. We started from the La Frontera sector, then continued past the sports field, the outpatient clinic, and from the Luz del Mundo church, we began our walk along this highway. On one side is the spectacular hill, and on the other, a residential complex. In front of the church is a small garden with bougainvillea, flamboyant trees, and other plants. From there, you can get a partial view of the hill, the Pan-American Highway, and a cross street that leads to the Cascajal sector.
Hola amigos viajeros deseo que tengan un feliz y bendecido fin de semana en unión familiar, aprovechando una salida que realicé con mi hijo tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer una caminata por la avenida Panamericana, en el sector Cascajal el cual ofrece una espectacular vista del cerro homónimo, el cual se ubica en la avenida mencionada y abarca varios kilómetros, inicia desde la entrada del sector El valle y se extiende hasta la entrada del sector la Llanada se le conoce como cerro Cascajal y es el escenario ideal para avistar espectaculares paisajes en el amanecer y atardecer.
Nuestra visita fue en horas de la tarde, iniciamos desde el sector la frontera luego avanzamos por la cancha, el ambulatorio y desde la iglesia Luz del Mundo, iniciamos nuestro recorrido por esta avenida, a uno de los lados se encuentra el espectacular Cerro y al otro un conjunto residencial, al frente de la iglesia se ubica un pequeño jardín con plantas de Bugambilias Flamboyán entre otras, desde allí se aprecia una vista parcial del cerro, la avenida Panamericana y una transversal que conduce al sector Cascajal.
During the drive towards Panamericana Avenue, we traveled through several streets of Cascajal. The view is beautiful; in the distance, you can see the mountain and various trees. It's a large area bordering Brazil and the Llanada plain. The clinic, as well as the small garden in front of the hill, also has beautiful bougainvillea. In fact, it's one of the plants we saw most often in this area. Continuing towards the hill, you can see the avenue and several plants located along the perimeter fence of the residential complex. The hill stands out for its striking shapes, the result of erosion. It has several cacti on its back side, and in the center of the avenue are several trees, mostly neem and ceiba.
In the following photograph, we see part of the garden and the street that leads to the main avenue. This is a wide avenue with two lanes that begins at Alí Primera Square and ends at Llanada. I liked the view of the hill and its different shades of brown and sometimes reddish. In the afternoon, the sky is clear with few clouds, and the hill takes on a different hue, perhaps due to the incidence of the sun's rays. The breeze in this area is pleasant, fresh, and perfect for a relaxing walk.
Durante el trayecto hacia la avenida Panamericana, recorrimos varias calles de Cascajal, la vista es hermosa, al fondo se encuentra la montaña y varios árboles, es un sector grande que limita con Brasil y la Llanada, el ambulatorio al igual que el pequeño jardín frente al Cerro, tiene también hermosas Bugambilias, de hecho es una de las plantas que más pudimos observar en esta zona, avanzando hacia el cerro se puede ver la avenida y varias plantas ubicadas en la cerca perimetral del conjunto residencial, el Cerro destaca por sus llamativas figuras producto de la erosión, tiene varias plantas de cactus en la parte posterior y en el centro de la avenida se ubican también varios árboles que su mayoría son Neem y Ceibas.
En la siguiente fotografía, vemos parte del jardín y la calle que conduce a la avenida principal, esta es una avenida amplia con dos canales que inicia en la plaza Alí Primera y termina en la Llanada, me gustó la vista del cerro y sus diferentes tonos de color marrón y en algunas ocasiones rojizo, en la tarde se observa el cielo despejado, con pocas nubes y el cerro adquiere una tonalidad diferente tal vez por la incidencia de los rayos solares, la brisa en esta área es agradable, fresca y perfecta para una caminata relajante.
Continuing along the trail, we stopped to observe the varied shapes of the hill's terrain. There are vertical lines forming columns, rocks with diverse shapes, and, at the back, cactus plants scattered across a wide strip of the hill. There are also grasses that appear to be related to cacti 🌵. To get a closer look at the hill, we took the other path and arrived at the entrance to the El Valle sector. This area converges with the Super Blocks at the back, and at the entrance, there is a large plot of land located on the edge of the hill, decorated with gardens made of rocks and tires, painted yellow.
The entrance is a walkway framed by rubber tires and planters made of yellow rocks. From there, you can see the church, part of the Pan-American Highway, and the residential complex, as well as a view of the hill and a canal along the avenue. The island is a concrete walkway with several trees approximately every five meters. From the entrance to the valley, you can see the Chiquinquirá Church, located near the fire station and a few meters from the Cascajal traffic lights. The church stands out for its striking design, which, according to a resident, is inspired by a church in Italy. From here, you can also see several buildings in the Superblocks sector, and the sunset offers a beautiful view. I enjoy watching the sunset and the beautiful color of the sky. From the valley, we go down to the church, and you can see some details of its design: the circular windows on the sides, the blue doors, the dome on the right side, and a cross street that leads to the Alberto Sanabria School, located next to the church. You can also see a tower that belongs to the headquarters of the firefighters and the characteristic trees on the island of the avenue; it was a nice tour of this area, we enjoyed the breeze, the sunset and got to know several streets of this sector, when the sun began to hide announcing that night would soon arrive, we took the transport back home.
Avanzando en el recorrido, nos detuvimos a observar las variadas formas que presenta el relieve del cerro, hay líneas verticales formando columnas, rocas con variadas figuras y en la parte posterior plantas de cactus, estas se encuentran esparcidas en una amplia franja del cerro, también plantas gramíneas que al parecer son familia de los cactus 🌵 para observar de cerca el cerro, tomamos el otro canal y llegamos a la entrada del sector El valle, este converge con los Súper Bloques en la parte posterior y la entrada hay un amplio terreno, ubicado en el borde del cerro, el cual está decorado con jardines hechos con rocas y cauchos, pintados de color amarillo.
La entrada es un pasillo enmarcado con los cauchos y las jardineras formadas por rocas amarillas, desde ese punto se aprecia la iglesia parte de la avenida Panamericana y el conjunto residencial, también una vista del Cerro y un canal de la avenida, la Isla es una caminería de concreto y tiene varios árboles aproximadamente a cada cinco metros, desde la entrada al valle se observa la iglesia Chiquinquirá, esta se ubica cerca de los bomberos y a pocos metros de los semáforos de Cascajal, la iglesia destaca por su llamativo diseño, el cual de acuerdo a la información de una residente, es inspirado en una iglesia de Italia, también desde aquí se aprecian varios edificios del sector Súper bloques y el ocaso del sol ofrece una hermosa vista, disfruto ver el atardecer y el hermoso color del cielo, desde El valle, bajamos hasta la iglesia y se pueden ver algunos detalles de su diseño, las ventanas circulares en los lados, las puertas azules, la cúpula en el lado derecho y una transversal que conduce hasta la escuela Alberto Sanabria, ubicada al lado de la iglesia, se observa también una torre que corresponde a la sede de los bomberos y los árboles característicos en la isla de la avenida; fue un lindo recorrido por esta zona, disfrutamos la brisa, el atardecer y conocimos varias calles de este sector, cuando el sol empezó a ocultarse anunciando que pronto llegaría la noche, tomamos el transporte de vuelta a casa.
