Hello fellow travelers around the world, I wish you a happy weekend. This time, I'm sharing my recent visit to the area known as La Boca. Its name comes from the confluence of the Caribbean Sea and the Manzanares River. It's a very popular spot where you can see a wide variety of boats. Nearby, there's a fishing port and a waterfront shop selling fresh fish. It's also one of the routes used by boats heading to various coastal towns in the state of Sucre. It's located in the El Dique sector, where several companies related to the fishing industry are based.
Visiting this area of the city is a lovely experience for those who appreciate the sea. In the morning it is very crowded, as many people wait for the boats loaded with fish to make their purchases. During my visit, which was very early in the morning, I headed towards the entrance of the fishing port. There I walked, observed the landscape, and sat for a while on the walkways formed by large, flat rocks. From this point, the view of the sea is truly beautiful. Near the rocks, trees provide shade and coolness. I sat there for about an hour, observing and enjoying the view and the pleasant breeze. The waves at that time of day were gentle and calm, ideal for those who love being in contact with nature and the seascape. The water has a beautiful blue color, reminiscent of the poem of the same name by the writer Cruz Salmerón Acosta, who was inspired by the beauty of the sea and its striking color to write this well-known poem. After relaxing for more than an hour on the stone walkway, I headed towards the port at the mouth, walking slowly and observing the ships, most of which are quite large.
Hola amigos viajeros en todo el mundo, les deseo un feliz fin de semana, en esta ocasión les mi nueva visita al sector conocido como La Boca, este nombre se debe a que allí convergen el mar Caribe y el río Manzanares, es un lugar muy concurrido y en el cual puedes observar una gran variedad de barcos botes, además muy cerca se ubica un puerto pesquero y un local a orillas del mar donde venden pescado fresco, es también una de las rutas por donde pasan los botes que se dirigen hacia varios pueblos costeros del estado Sucre, se localiza en el sector el Dique, donde se ubican varias empresas relacionadas con la actividad pesquera.
Visitar esta zona de la ciudad, es una linda experiencia, para quienes aprecian el mar, en horas de la mañana es muy concurrido, debido a que muchas personas esperan los botes cargados de pescado para hacer la compra, durante mi visita que fue muy temprano en la mañana, me dirigí hacia la entrada del puerto pesquero, allí caminé, observé el paisaje y me senté un rato en las caminerías formadas por grandes rocas planas, desde este punto, la vista del mar es realmente hermosa; cerca de las rocas hay árboles que dan sombra y frescura, durante aproximadamente una hora me quedé allí sentada observando, disfrutando la vista del paisaje y la agradable brisa, el oleaje a esa hora del día era suave, tranquilo e ideal para los que aman disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza y el paisaje marino, el agua tiene un hermoso color azul, que me recuerda al poema homónimo, del escritor Cruz Salmerón Acosta, quien se inspiró en en la belleza del mar y su llamativo color, para escribir este conocido poema, luego de relajarme por más de una hora en la caminería de piedras, me dirigí hacia el puerto de la boca, caminando lentamente, observando los barcos, que la mayoría son bastante grandes por cierto.
I took a very slow walk to observe in detail the sea, the boats, and the flow of people coming and going from the port with fish and other products. After walking approximately 200 meters, I arrived at the well-known fish market, the Lonja Pesquera, where the boats arrive with their cargo of fish. There I stayed at a distance, observing the routines of the fishermen: arriving, tying up the boat, taking out the fish, then distributing it, and the number of birds that gather when they perceive the presence of the fish. These birds are known as pelicans and are always attentive near the boats. Then I approached a little and took some photos of these friendly seabirds.
The view of the sea at this time of day is beautiful; the water is a gorgeous blue and seems to merge with the sky, except for the white patches of clouds, where the difference between the two is noticeable. I enjoyed this walk because I could see the boats in detail and the gentle waves that characterize this area of the sea. At the fish market, as well as at the entrance, there's a rocky walkway, perfect for a stroll and observing the expanse of the sea. In this area, you can also see various birds and spot the boats returning from their day's work. It's wider and longer than the previous walkway, and the breeze is stronger, which I think is due to its location on the open sea, where there are no trees or boats to act as a barrier against the wind. This was one of my favorite spots, and I was able to walk several meters along the walkway, taking advantage of the low sun and the cool breeze. It was a great decision to move from the entrance to the port.
Hice una caminata muy lenta, para observar en detalle el mar, los botes y la afluencia de personas que iban y venían del puerto, con el pescado y otros productos, luego de caminar aproximadamente 200 metros llegué al conocido puerto la Lonja pesquera, donde llegan los botes con la carga de pescado, allí me quedé a la distancia observando las rutinas de los pescadores, llegar, amarrar el bote, sacar el pescado, luego distribuirlo y la cantidad de aves que se aglomeran cuando perciben la presencia del pescado, estas aves se conocen como pelícanos y siempre están atentas cerca de los botes, luego me acerqué un poco y tomé algunas fotos de estas simpáticas aves marinas.
La vista del mar a esta hora es muy bonita, el agua se ve de un azul hermoso y parece unirse con el cielo, salvo por las manchas blancas de las nubes,. donde se aprecia la diferencia entre ambos, me gustó esta caminata porque pude ver en detalle los botes y el oleaje suave que caracteriza a esta zona del mar, en la lonja pesquera al igual que en la entrada hay un caminería de rocas, perfecta para un paseo y observar la extensión del mar, en esta zona se pueden ver también varas aves y avistar los botes cuando regresan de su jornada, es más ancha y larga que la anterior, la brisa en más fuerte creo que se debe a la ubicación en mar abierto, donde no hay árboles o barcos que actúan como barrera ante el viento, este fue uno de mis lugares favoritos y pude recorrer varios metros de la caminería, aprovechando la poca incidencia del sol y la bisa fría, fue una gran decisión moverme desde la entrada hasta el puerto.
After my short but delightful stroll along the harbor walkway, I approached the boats. I hadn't realized there were so many. From a distance, the larger ones were visible, but as I got closer, I could see the smaller ones, which are usually alongside or behind the larger ones. While walking along the harbor walkway, I had the opportunity to photograph several of these birds. They appeared to be resting on the rocks or perhaps basking in the sun and waiting for the fish to arrive.
These birds are curious because of the shape of their long, flat, and pointed beaks, which are very useful when fishing. They also move very quickly when it comes to catching their prey. I made several attempts to photograph them in action, but it wasn't possible, so I opted to wait until they were on land or resting to take some pictures of these lovely friends of the sea. I wanted to be as close as possible, but that would have meant interrupting their rest. I stayed at a distance, observing their movements. They are very active and beautiful. The last photo is my favorite; they look calm. Some are in swimming and fishing positions, others are simply enjoying the morning water. After about three hours at the port, and due to the intensity of the sun's rays and the increasing heat, I decided to go home. I took the road that leads to the Gonzalo de Ocampo Bridge and the bus stop. It was a relaxing and peaceful morning watching the sea, the birds swimming and fishing, and enjoying the fresh morning breeze.
Terminado mi pequeño pero encantador paseo por la caminería del puerto, me acerqué hacia los botes, no sabía que eran tantos, desde la distancia se aprecian los más grandes pero a medida que me iba acercando pude ver los más pequeños, los cuales regularmente están al lado o detrás de los grandes, mientras iba por la caminería del puerto tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar varias de estas aves, aparentemente están descansando en las rocas o tal vez tomando un poco del sol y esperando la llegada del pescado.
Estas aves son curiosas por la forma de su pico alargado, plano y puntiagudo, que le que le es muy útil al momento de pescar, además se mueven muy rápido cuando de capturar la presa se trata, hice varios intentos fotografiarlas en plena acción pero no fue posible, por eso opté por esperar que estuviesen en tierra o descansando, para hacerle algunas fotos a estas lindas amigas del mar, quería estar lo más cerca posible pero esto significa interrumpir su descanso, me mantuve a cierta distancia observando sus movimientos, son muy activas y hermosas, la última foto es mi favorita se ven tranquilas, algunas están en posición de nado y pesca, otras sencillamente disfrutan el agua matutina, luego de aproximadamente tres horas en el puerto y debido a la intensidad de los rayos solares e incremento del calor, decidí volver a casa, tomé el camino que conduce al puente Gonzalo de Ocampo y la parada de buses; fue una mañana relajante y tranquila observando el mar, las aves nadando y pescando, además disfruté la fresca brisa matutina.
