Greetings friends who love travel and adventure, I wish you a happy and prosperous week; Today I share with you a short tour of the Monagas state, which is located in the eastern region of Venezuela, its relief presents a beautiful variety of mountains and valleys in the north and plains and morichales in the south.
Saludos amigos amantes de los viajes y aventuras les deseo una feliz y próspera semana; hoy comparto con ustedes un pequeño recorrido por el estado Monagas, el cual se ubica en la región Oriental de Venezuela, su relieve presenta una hermosa variedad de montañas y valles en la zona norte y llanuras y morichales en la zona sur.
The Caripe Municipality is located in the north of the entity and has beautiful attractions such as the Cueva del Guácharo, the Mirador, the town of Teresen, the Taparitas, the Salto la Paila, among others, which make the municipality a beautiful place to enjoy the mountain climate and live beautiful family adventures.
The population of Caripe, the homonymous capital of the municipality, is located in an extensive valley surrounded by green mountains. The view from the national highway is a beautiful spectacle that nature gives us, although the road includes a long stretch of steep road, it is worth it to admire this beautiful landscape and enjoy the main gastronomic attraction of the town: the famous strawberries with cream, rose petal jam, a wide variety of wines and much more.
El Municipio Caripe se ubica en la zona norte de la entidad y posee hermosos atractivos como la Cueva del Guácharo, el Mirador, la población de Teresen, las Taparitas, el Salto la Paila, entre otros, que hacen del municipio un hermoso lugar para disfrutar el clima de montaña y vivir hermosas aventuras en familia.
La población de Caripe capital homónima del municipio, se ubica en un extenso valle rodeado de verdes montañas, la vista desde la carretera nacional es un hermoso espectáculo que la naturaleza nos regala, aunque el camino incluye un largo trecho de carretera empinada vale la pena para admirar este lindo paisaje y disfrutar el principal atractivo gastronómico de la población: Las famosas fresas con crema, mermelada de pétalos de rosa, una gran variedad de vinos y mucho más.
Los atractivos o monumentos naturales que más me gustan de este municipio son la Cueva del Guácharo y Salto la Paila, la cueva pertenece al Parque Nacional Alejandro Humbold cuyo territorio abarca parte del estado Sucre, es una caverna donde viven las aves de hábitos nocturnos llamados Guácharos (de allí proviene el nombre de la cueva), la visita se realiza con un guía y entre sus recomendaciones está evitar el uso de cámaras o equipos que proyecten mucha luz , ya que afecta a las aves, quienes duermen durante el día, ya dentro se pueden observar la formaciones de estalactitas y estalagmitas que son columnas de caliza que cuelgan del techo de la cueva y la otras nacen en piso de la cueva, en ocasiones pueden unirse y formar figuras muy llamativas.
Durante el recorrido el guía explica toda la información geológica de la cueva y se pueden observar diferentes formaciones rocosas con formas humana; entre ellas la Gran Familia y las Tetas de María Guevara, un conjunto de rocas de varios tamaños muy similares a los senos.
The attractions or natural monuments that I like the most in this municipality are the Cueva del Guácharo and Salto la Paila, the cave belongs to the Alejandro Humboldt National Park whose territory covers part of the Sucre state, it is a cave where nocturnal birds called Guácharos live (hence the name of the cave comes from), the visit is carried out with a guide and among his recommendations is to avoid the use of cameras or equipment that project a lot of light, since it affects the birds, who sleep during the day, already inside You can see the formations of stalactites and stalagmites that are limestone columns that hang from the ceiling of the cave and the others are born on the floor of the cave, sometimes they can join and form very striking figures.
During the tour, the guide explains all the geological information about the cave and you can see different rock formations with human shapes; among them the Great Family and the Tetas de María Guevara, a set of rocks of various sizes very similar to breasts.
The Paila waterfall is located on the Cueva del Guácharo trail, one (1) km from the cave. For the comfort of visitors, a path was built. Along the route there are several springs and you can see beautiful flowers and birds. as well as some cultivation areas of the municipality; the waterfall is a small waterfall that emerges from the mountain and at the bottom it has a shape very similar to a pan (the pan is a large pot), the water is cold, ideal for cooling off after climbing the mountain, visit this beautiful place was a nice adventure worth repeating.
El salto la Paila se ubica en el sendero Cueva del Guácharo a un (1) km de la caverna, para comodidad de los visitantes se construyó una caminería, a lo largo del recorrido se encuentran varios manantiales y se pueden apreciar hermosas flores y aves, así como algunas áreas de cultivo del municipio; el salto es una pequeña cascada que emerge de la montaña y en la parte inferior tiene una forma muy similar a una paila (la paila es una olla grande), el agua es fría, ideal para refrescarse luego de subir la montaña, visitar este hermoso lugar fue una linda aventura que merece las pena repetir.

Crossing the bridge and being able to observe the houses of the indigenous people and their primitive lifestyle is a great experience, which allows us to know a little about the life of our ancestors and their close relationship with the environment, taking advantage of the resources that it offers them to live, I remember I have visited this community in my student days and I was surprised by the ability of the children to swim and fish, they are experts and know how to move in this aquatic space.
En la carretera nacional del sur del estado, se ubica el Río Morichal largo sobre el cual descansa un puente y se encuentra además una comunidad de la etnia indígena Warao, que construyen sus casas o palafitos en el río, con troncos de madera y palma, el medio qye usan para trasladarse en el agua son las "canoas", de la palma de moriche obtienen la fibra para hacer las cestas y diversos trabajos manuales, los techos y paredes de la casa, la pulpa de la fruta para alimentarse y con e l tronco elaboran esculturas.
Pasar el puente y poder observar las viviendas de los indígenas y su estilo de vida primitivo es una gran experiencia, que permite conocer un poco de la vida e nuestros antepasados y su estrecha relación con el entorno aprovechando los recursos que este les ofrece para vivir, recuerdo haber visitado esta comunidad en mi época de estudiante y me sorprendió la habilidad de los niños para nadar y pescar, son expertos y saben desplazarse en este espacio acuático.
