Hello everyone! Although I have more Tel Aviv and more Eilat to show you, I even have other cities like Haifa, I can't contain my excitement. I arrived in Jerusalem yesterday and the words come out on their own. I had to sit down to write because I was not going to remember the number of sentences that crossed my mind.

Jerusalem is the greatest exponent of religion in Israel. Although the entire country is well known for showing us the purest faces of Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam, Jerusalem throws the crudest and most beautiful reality in your face.
Jerusalén es el mayor exponente de la religión en Israel. Si bien el país entero es bien conocido por mostrarnos las caras más puras del Judaísmo, Catolicismo e Islamismo, Jerusalén te larga en la cara la más cruda y hermosa realidad.
Orthodox Jews and Muslims who stand out among all for their particular clothes are walking everywhere, while Catholics, although discreet with their clothing, move along the Via Dolorosa (which extends along the same street where there is an entire Muslim market set up ) reciting the rosary.

People and symbols are seen, but very strong ideals and beliefs float in the air that cannot be ignored.

The road to the old city is beautiful, and when you pass the sign that sings “I love JLM”, the slope towards the old city begins, between almost white rocks stained with history, pain, threats, and hope.

Almost without realizing it, you find yourself submerged in the tiny streets of the Arab market that, as I mentioned recently, coexists with the Christian Via Dolorosa. This indicates that, next to the market, we are walking exactly along the path that Jesus traveled with the cross on his back, before being crucified.
Casi sin darte cuenta te ves sumergida en las ínfimas calles del mercado árabe que como mencioné recién, coexiste con la vía dolorosa Cristiana. Esto indica que, junto al mercado, estamos caminando exactamente por el camino que recorrió Jesús con la cruz a cuestas, antes de ser crucificado.

Next to the stalls, you can see the stations of the cross, and even very powerful symbols such as the wall where Jesus put his face in the first fall.

Over there, in the middle of the Arab market, you find a small street that takes you to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, just like that, you walk, you see a huge wall of that almost white stone, resplendent and beautiful, and you are in the Holy Sepulcher. In another post, I will talk about this Church because I think it deserves a full post.
Por ahí, en el medio del mercado árabe, encontrás una callecita que te lleva hasta la Iglesia del Santo Sepulcro, así como si nada, caminás, ves una norme pared de esa piedra casi blanca, resplandeciente y hermosa, y estás en el Santo Sepulcro. You walk a little more and voila, you are reaching the famous "Western Wall", belonging to the Jewish religion, a wall that remains standing in reference to the temple that was demolished by the Romans. Although they left it standing to remind the Jewish people that they had been defeated, the Jews took it as a sign from God.
Caminás un poco más y listo, estás llegando al famoso “Western Wall”, el Muro de los Lamentos, perteneciente a la religión Judía, muro que se mantiene en pie en referencia al templo que fue derribado por los romanos. Aunque estos lo dejaron en pie para recordarle al pueblo judío que habían sido vencidos, los judíos lo tomaron como una señal de Dios.

According to this religion, the day the new temple is erected will be the day of the arrival of the Messiah. The issue is that this is not very viable because on the other side is Palestine, working and everything with its mosques.
Según esta religión, el día que se eleve el nuevo templo, será el día de la llegada del Mesías. El tema es que esto no es demasiado viable porque del otro lado está Palestina, funcionando y todo con sus mezquitas.

The Jews pray at this wall, and men and women are separated, that is, they pray on one side and they on the other. I don't really know what is causing this. The wall is the place considered most sacred for this religion.
