You turn slightly from the Main Street in Plovdiv and imperceptibly you are already in the "Trap". And if you enter it - you will not want to leave.
The neighborhood is established as a center of craftsmen before the 5th century, because it is not surprising on the street with names such as "Kozhuharska", "Zhelezarska", "Zlatarska", etc., and its name is inspired by the twisted braid. . on small streets. Today in "Trap" you will not meet traditional craftsmen, but modern creative entrepreneurs. This is thanks to the three-year efforts of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation to turn the previously neglected part of the city into a real cultural center and neighborhood of creative industries. The project is part of the artistic program under the motto "Together", with which Plovdiv won the title of European Capital of Culture in 2019.
And if not soon, you will certainly see the change - almost 80% of small streets have been turned into a pedestrian zone. It will soon be almost everything. The small houses are very similar to the narrow Dutch houses in Amsterdam, they are colorful and full of new life, and the people are smiling.
You will see galleries, workshops, studios, studios, cozy restaurants and shops, all kinds of other art spaces and even a shop for music squares gathered in one place!
All these places fill the "Trap" with modern cultural content not only with their daily work, but also create events with social, economic and cultural effects for the city. So much is happening in the new old artistic district of Plovdiv - concerts, exhibitions, festivals, forums, brainstorming sessions and discussions, theater presentations, opening of installations, screenings, workshops and much more.
