Destinations of my walk🧭🌍/Destinos de mi caminata🍍🚩

First of all, to do this tour from the city center it will take you about 3.30 hours walking a total of between 15-18km depending on whether or not you want to make detours to see other things! The best height to do the trail is in summer, as the site is well covered, you will not be exposed much to the sun and not to mud and things like that! In addition, the climate in the area is pleasant because it is on hills, however do not forget your hiking poles and boots as well as water and food! My first stop will be in the park: (Parque Urbano Santa Iria de Azoria) after walking a few kilometers we will go to the São Lourenço viewpoint and there things get intense because we are going to walk many kilometers to a 15th century village which I have for you there a surprise!🚙🌍🚵♂️

My first stop after walking about 3km is probably the Santa Iria de Azoria Urban Park which we can take a beautiful walk in one of the highest points of Loures, the park was built between the sixties and nineties and it was because in In this area they closed a landfill and to educate the population on how to use natural resources, the park has several structures made with recycled materials as well as murals and other structures that take advantage of resources to provide energy such as water and wind, so it is normal to see a windmill as the most emblematic object of the park! 38.847110, -9.100140🧭🍍
38.847110, -9.100140🌾🌄🌍

The park has its schedule so I recommend checking it before going there! You can do many types of activities, especially those related to taking care of your body! from running to weight lifting and stretching exercises! However, from what I saw, everyone's favorite activity is to come with the family and spend a different day having a picnic or walking their pets since they are welcome! You can walk the park in about an hour! It has views of the river to the south, north and west!👀🧭🌏

This was my favorite part of the park, besides the beautiful view of the river, it is a windmill that is an emblem of Portugal because hundreds of them were built throughout the territory and they were already used after the Romanesque occupation, so they have some dating back hundreds of years or half a century! The park displays it here to give an explanation of how our ancestors used the wind to produce energy!🌄🚵♂️🌻

The walk in the park is quite relaxing however it left me a little disappointed because it is not my style! It is very basic, of course I couldn't ask for much for a place that is intended for families and exercising. There is an area that is like a gazebo with chairs but it was not open. I think that there you can see everything in a 360 degree angle! If you have little time, I don't recommend spending it visiting the park, you can go to other places before going to the viewpoint!🚩🌄🚵♂️

After leaving the park we had probably accumulated about 5km and to get to the viewpoint from the park we have to walk about 2.5km so we are at a good pace! To get to the viewpoint we are going to pass through the village which has some pretty beautiful houses, many of them decorated with tiles, one of the oldest and most typical techniques in Portugal!🍍🚵♂️

a little more complex terrain🚙🍍
This is the most complicated part of the trail and it is not a big deal, however I had to be careful because the terrain has many cracks and well you can sprain your foot here so be very careful! I can imagine this during the rainy season... It wouldn't even be possible to get through here!👀🧭🌏

And finally we arrived at the viewpoint! which has a beautiful view towards the north of the country, we can see several villages including Salvacao which has a waterfall! That whole route takes you towards Spain, I am about 140 meters high and it is the highest hill in the city of Santa Iria de Azoia, from here several paths start to make other trails and you can do some bike rides! For me, getting to the viewpoint was my goal and it is time to leave for the next destination, a village more than 6km from here!🍍🌍

24km🧭🌍/15th century village🍍🚩

After walking 24km in total, it was already dark and I brought you to the Praça Monumental de Santo Antão do Tojal, which is a very small village but for me it has one of the best squares in Portugal because you can see the matrix church built in the 15th century. and then this fountain that dates back to the 18th century along with the plaza! since the medieval era the village had been inhabited🧭🏯🚩
