Hello there,
This is the 2nd part of my previous honeymoon post - @bladesong/harbin-the-ice-city that share about the 2nd part of my trip to the Largest Ski Resort in China - Yabuli. Located in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang, It is 177 km southeast from Harbin, approximately 2.5hrs by train...and the start of a Ski adventure !!
So ya i always wanted to go on a ski trip as where i come from i only see ice in my freezer. Europe is priced out for me so an alternative is only Japan or China. After some researching found some good reviews regarding this resort and its half the price of any Japanese resort...perfect !
For those not very familar with how Club Med works is they usually charge an All-Inclusive rate that covers accommodation, full meals for the whole day, free flow bar drinks :) and activities (although equipment rentals are non inclusive)...its like a cruise ship package with free flow of drinks and no gambling hahaha...
On the first day of arrival itself i am gearing to head up hill for Snowboarding lessons and boy it was a very painful lesson...i cant remember how many times i fell flat on my butt, not only that its very hard to get up after, missus gave up after a few tries and i too decided that Snowboarding is not for me....so decided to give it a rest and explore outskirts of the resort before heading to their evening shows.
Done some beautiful country side exploration to walk off those sore butt bumps before dinner activities. Every night in Club Med there is performances by the staff members, some nights are movie nights and its interesting. The Bar area is also opened till 11pm and you really can drink till you drop !
Next day we proceed to try out Skiing and i will say i loved it. Much better experience than snowboarding, less bumps to the butt and i feel good about it. After half a day of training i managed to try the more advanced and faster trails thanks to my trainer
So basically the next two days is us trying out different skiing trails, exploring the countryside and basically fill our bellies as everything is included in the package.
During the last day of my stay there was a snowstorm and the roads leading out to the resort was blocked, unfortunately because of this i missed my connecting flight and had to scramble to find another flight back home :(
That's it my sharing of my adventure up way North of China...looking forward to return when times are better and travel is allowed again.
In the meantime stay safe and looking forward to the day we can travel again, and in the meantime check out this awesome game that introduced me to Hive Engine - https://splinterlands.com?ref=bladesong
