During the pandemic (2021), life was slowly going back to normal. Tourism started to open up slowly. Some municipalities in the province had opened for tourist as long as they could present what were required of them before entering their town.
In my previous post, I shared about our weekend experiences in a simple resort caled Blue Oasis in Tomas Oppus, So. Leyte. This time I'll share another beach resort we discovered on our way home.
It was near lunch time when we started to travel back home. Along the way we felt hungry so we decided that we could stop by a restaurant or carenderia if we could find one. But we were still far from Maasin City and we couldn't find a carenderia. The towns we passed by are kinda laid back and there weren't so much economic activities. Well, it's understandable since it was still at the height of the pandemic. We passed by a resort named Blue Deep Resort in Padre Burgos, So. Leyte. We checked by asking the guard if they have a restaurant where we could have our lunch. Luckily it was open.
The resort was built adapting to the topography of the place. It was beach front but part of the area is hilly.
We went inside to the restaurant to give our orders. We were prompted that we need to wait for a while for our food to be served. So we decided to have a tour around the resort. The place was beautiful, and relaxing. It was quiet since there weren't many people. We noticed a few customers in their hotel but they just stayed inside. We almost had the place for ourselves.
We went to the upper part of the resort where there's a viewdeck on top of the hill.
We had a view of the historical Limasawa Island, where according to history is where the First Catholic Mass was held.
The wind blowing from the sea was so refreshing that we didn't mind the hot sun. What a tranquil feeling to be seeing the calm sea from the top.
And there's this old, huge tree with an amazing beauty.
We took a picture almost everywhere as if we owned the place. Hahah! 😄
There's an area at the viewdeck where you can just sit and relax with the view of the sea and enjoy the see breeze.
We went down to the pool area and passed by their aesthetic hotel rooms designed with indigenous materials and the stairs that would bring out the beauty queen in you.💃
The big pool was drained since no one was using it but we the got to relax on their sun loungers and hammock.
We walked to the beach front. There's a smaller pool with a view of the sea. What a cool view, right?
We went to the beach area. The beach is rocky so you couldn't really enjoy a white and soft sand unlike what common beaches I used to visit. And there's this seawall that they built in front that you couldn't just run carelessly to the beach. But that what makes this place unique.
We explored more of the beauty of the resort and found ouselves at the beach front at the foot of the hill where we came from earlier. It was windy and I was loving it though it kept blowing off my hat. 😄
On the slopes of the hill, they build a circular block wall. Small plants grow in between blocks. It was awesome to look at.
Here's another slope built with block walls. Isn't it nice?
After satisfying ourselves with the aesthetics of this resort, we went back to their restaurant so they can serve us our food. We asked them if we could eat at the cottage that extends to the sea. And, yes they allowed us to use it without fee.
And there we enjoyed our meal with surrounded by the beauty of the sea.
We didn't expect to see such beauty here but glad we did. There is just so much beauty that the pandemic kept us away from seeing. And now that things are back to normal, time to go again and explore.
