Fooding again in South Australia. A change since my last time here 5 years ago has been the proliferation of pork belly. The stuff is everywhere. It's tasty, for sure, but how much belly can one handle?
Five years ago it was schnitzels: chicken, pork, fish. Whatever you could think of. Thank goodness they didn't make them with beets.
Of course, there's always deep fried pork knuckle. Depp fried pork anything is good. This one had a large slab of crackling on top. I could have scored big by taking the high bid for it among my friends, but chose greed. It was perfect!
And then, a Krispy Kreme donut. This wasn't one of the yummy Aussie doghnuts sent from the heavens to make us all carnivoriums. This was an outright KK done so much better. Not sickeningly sweet, just right. And priced 33% more than a very good hot dog from the same place. I had to try it. Tossed half, because half as sweet was still twice too much.
