Satoshi and me
Guys, this has been a dream of mine for several years now, visiting the first-ever Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Hungary. And yesterday it finally came true! I went to Budapest and made my way to this tech company campus in the northwest of the city.
To get there you hop off Metro Line H5 at Kaszásdűlő station. From there, you walk past a big Auchan hypermarket, and right behind it is the tech campus with several modern buildings. The last building actually hosts Microsoft; the area has plenty of trees and a small Café opposite Microsoft. And right there in the middle of it all there it is!
Put up in 2021 by several crypto-related Hungarian contributors, as the plaque says, the statue isn’t huge, but I think it’s really well made. A golden bust with a Hoodie and a BTC logo on it.
And as you can see, Satoshi and I got along very well and were both looking into a bright future for Bitcoin. I left him some fiat coins, few Hungarian forint, as a symbolic gift. Who knows, maybe it’ll bring good luck!
