Today in this post I want to tell you a little about my Valentine's Day, because I had decided to take a trip to a place that I think is very interesting but unfortunately it was ruined by the weather, in fact it practically rained all day and so I was able to see few interesting things of this beautiful city which is Terni and is called the city of love precisely because it is the birthplace of Saint Valentine and is its patron because the saint was the first bishop of this city.
It was a trip organized together with a guide, who explained to us many interesting things about this city, which is a bit known as the Italian Manchester due to the fact that it is very linked to the industrial sector, especially the steel sector, but in reality it is interesting because it has a truly ancient history and still preserves Renaissance buildings and also very interesting medieval towers.
As I was telling you, Saint Valentine, the patron saint of all lovers, was born here around 176 AD. In fact, Saint Valentine is celebrated on February 14th precisely because it is the day of his death which occurred through a beheading for his Christian faith and his relics are precisely inside the Basilica which is located here in Terni.
It was a very interesting tour, because it allowed me to see some beautiful places, especially if I was very impressed by the historic center, unfortunately there were not even the stalls of the chocolate festival which takes place right in that period. But it will certainly be the occasion to return to this beautiful city, in my opinion very underrated in Italy, but worth a visit.
I hope my photos were interesting and I hope they encouraged you to visit this place this beautiful city see you soon.
