Hello to everyone in the Pinmaple community! Today I bring you a review dedicated to La Llovizna Park and the Ecomuseum of Caroní, places that I recently visited with my family, my mother and my partner. In previous opportunities, I talked about La Llovizna Park, but this time is special because my mother had never visited the place and for me it was very exciting to see her happy face when she was in front of the great waterfalls of the Caroni River. So let's get to it.
On the way to San Felix, we will find the Macagua II dam, which is an ideal reference to locate us in Bolivar and to know that we are only a few kilometers away from La Llovizna Park and the Ecomuseum. This time we visited the park in the afternoon, on Saturday. As it is a touristic and ideal place to spend the day with the family, we found that it was quite crowded. So there were also several kiosks selling drinks and some groceries. The weather was quite humid (logically) but luckily it was a little cloudy at the beginning of the tour, so we could be a little cooler.

El día de hoy les traigo una reseña dedicada al Parque la Llovizna y al Ecomuseo de Caroní, lugares que visite hace poco junto a mí familia, mi madre y mí pareja. En anteriores oportunidades, hablé sobre el Parque La Llovizna, pero esta vez es especial ya que mi madre nunca había ido visita el lugar y para mí fue muy emocionante ver su rostro de felicidad al estar frentes a las grandes cascadas del río Caroní. Así que vamos a ello.
Vía a San Felix, encontraremos la represa Macagua II, que es una referencia ideal para ubicarnos en Bolívar y saber que estamos a tan solo unos kilómetros del Parque la Llovizna y el Ecomuseo. Esta vez visitamos el parque en horas de la tarde, el día sábado. Cómo es un lugar turístico e ideal para pasar el día en familia, encontramos que estaba bastante lleno. Así que también habían varios kioskos de venta de bebidas y algunos comestibles. El clima estaba bastante húmedo (lógicamente) pero por suerte estaba algo nublado al comienzo del recorrido, así que pudimos estar un poco más frescos.
That day we saw the Kajak for the first time in operation. It seems that they belong to a private company that is dedicated to rent the Kajak to the visitors of the place or also, they are a private group (a team) that practices the sport. We also saw some little ones with their parents, so I think the first option is the most viable. In any case, we enjoyed watching these people sailing around one of the lagoons of the place. And some children feeding the fish that were on the shore (in the park you can buy food for them).
When we got to the waterfalls, my mom kept recording with her phone the whole show. So when she was distracted I took the opportunity to take a video of her impression; she was really moved. She had visited the Mirador de San Felix, where you can also enjoy the view of the river, but it does not compare with the immensity of the waterfalls in La Llovizna. We spent at least an hour there, walking around, taking pictures and talking for a while.
Ese día vimos por primera vez en funcionamiento los Kajak. Tal parece que pertenecen a una empresa privada que se dedica a alquilar los Kajak a los visitantes del lugar o también, son un grupo privado (un equipo) que práctica el deporte. También vimos algunos pequeños junto a sus padres por lo que creo que la primera opción es la más viable. En todo caso, disfrutamos de ver de aquí para allá a estas personas navegando por una de las lagunas del lugar. Y de algunos niños que alimentaban a los peces que estaban en la orilla (en el parque puedes comprar alimentos para ellos).
Cuando llegamos a las cascadas, mi mamá no dejaba de grabar con su teléfono todo el espectáculo. Así que cuando estaba distraída aproveche para tomar un vídeo sobre su impresión; realmente estaba conmovida. Ella había visitado el Mirador de San Felix, dónde también se puede disfrutar de la vista del río, pero no sé compara con la inmensidad de las cascadas en la Llovizna. Allí pasamos cómo mínimo una hora, entre recorrer, tomar fotografías y conversar un rato.
At about four in the afternoon we decided to go down to the Ecomuseum (it is at the end of the Llovizna, quite close) because although we had information that it was not working, we wanted to try our luck. The Ecomuseum of the Caroní is a place that functioned as a space for tourists to observe in action the turbines that are responsible for supplying energy and water to all of Puerto Ordaz. In addition, it is a concept that unites science and art, because inside we find the turbines of Carlos Cruz Diez, beautifully decorated. Here is a reference.
It is a pity that we were not able to go inside to see the turbines, as it is something I have been waiting for years. Anyway, we took the opportunity to take some pictures. According to my father-in-law, who has been living in Puerto Ordaz for years, they have made some repairs to the place and added the fountains you see in the pictures. Several visitors took advantage of the fountains to cool off from the heat. The children enjoying the dew. Finally my friends, the complete tour was about five hours, where you can see both the park and the Ecomuseum. I recommend bringing water, some food and a garbage bag. They are ideal places to get to know the goodness of Bolivar, which is in its nature. A eso de las cuatro de la tarde decidimos bajar hasta el Ecomuseo (queda al extremo de la Llovizna, bastante cerca) pues aunque teníamos información de que no estaba funcionando, queríamos probar suerte. El Ecomuseo del Caroní es un sitio que funcionaba cómo un espacio para que los turistas observarán en acción las turbinas que se encargan de suministrar energía y agua a todo Puerto Ordaz. Además, es un concepto que une las ciencias y las artes, pues en el interior encontramos las turbinas de Carlos Cruz Diez, bellamente decoradas. Les dejo una referencia.
Es una lastima que no hayamos podido entrar a ver las turbinas, pues es algo que llevo años esperando. De todas formas aprovechamos para tomar algunas fotografías. Según mí suegro, quién tiene años viviendo en Puerto Ordaz, han hecho algunas reparaciones al lugar y añadido las fuentes que ven en las fotografías. Fuentes que varios visitantes aprovecharon para refrescarse del calor que había. Los niños disfrutando del rocío. Finalmente amigos míos, el recorrido completo fue de unas cinco horas aproximadamente, dónde se puede conocer tanto el parque cómo el Ecomuseo. Recomiendo llevar agua, algo de comida y bolsa de basura. Son sitios ideales para conocer las bondades de Bolívar, que está en su naturaleza.
