It was a great sunny day on a Sunday, we woke up early and travelled for a 35-minute drive to Bolihon.
My in-laws fetch me and my daughter from the house at seven thirty in the morning. I was excited to go there because it had been a long time since I last went. Although it's not very far from home, I rarely have time that I need to arrange because of my work.
We were heading there, and it was a bit crowded inside the car, but not hot. Tatay was driving the car. The travel was smooth and peaceful since Tatay and Nanay didn't disagree with each other. lol
We stopped by a convenience store to buy some chips, donuts, and other food.
My cute nephew is charming but camera-shy.
The girls were at the back.
Finally, we have arrived at Bolihon beach. There were a lot of parked cars, so I expected it to be crowded. Bolihon is in Carmen, Agusan del Norte, a coastal area. It is a famous coastal destination. People from the neighboring municipalities and cities go there.)
Each one of us brought the things we could carry because it would be a long walk to the cottage we chose.
What I love about this place is that there are a lot of big old trees that serve as shade. They look wonderful. Since it is a weekend, every tent already has people occupying it.
This is our beachfront. Good thing we chose this part of the beach since there weren't too many people here. There was a group of young adults in front of us. They had no tent, but luckily it didn't rain that time. The heat of the scorching sun was strong, and not so windy. So it's a little bit hot.
The view is so stunningly beautiful. The tree in front makes a perfect shade. The white sand is not the original sand here in Bolihon, they say. But whatever it is, it doesn't make me not like the place.
People were comfortably sitting on the sand under the shade of the tree. Not quite sand but shell sand, a mixture of tiny shells and sand. The sea was so calm and peaceful.
I headed to the mysterious rock formation. I was too determined and attempted to climb the rock, but I didn't even reach halfway. haha...
As I was approaching, I took a photo of this big stone mountain with the Balete tree on top. It is fascinating and truly beautiful.
I was scared, I struggled, and it's dangerous since I wore thick slippers, and my daughter didn't want to accompany me because she had already gone there many times. So, I gave up instead. I sit and I let my daughter take pictures of me. I was just looking at the people and tossed myself into the water. I saw a plastic wrapper of chips, picked it up, and threw it in the trash bag. I always do that whenever I see garbage and the opportunity to at least help in my little way to clean Mother Earth.
I took photos of the people heading there since it's low tide still. I can see people from afar. They like to jump and swim there and take pictures.
I also took photos of the rock formation, the shells, and the sea creatures moving.
Happy feet for I walked on the sand, or shellsand. It was a little painful, but it was all worth it. It's nice to connect to nature once in a while.
A group of people were just sitting and standing there. i am not sure what they are looking at or doing exactly.
Although there are stones in the sea, I still want to swim because the water is clean and crystal clear. This is one of the reasons why I like this beach so much.
And that is all for now. I hope you like all the photos and the story of my experience at Bolihon.
